Galloways Bakers — Restaurant in St Helens

Me and my colleague attended the Mill Street shop yesterday at around 2pm when we arrived there was no queue behind us. We was served by an older lady, my colleague asked if it would be possible to have a barm with just chicken on as she dislikes all the salad which is customer preference as there is never any prepared without salad. It clearly states on their sign that fresh sandwiches can be made upon request with no time frame on this. The lady pulled her face, and said there was a queue behind us which there wasn't when we first arrived and she did not have time to do this and they don't make fresh sandwiches upon request at lunch time even though there is no time frame even stated on the board and it was not even lunch time. It even clearly states on a sign that allergies or intolerances are to be told to staff, would she have pulled her face if my colleague had an allergy or intolerance to any of the salad... This lady should definitely not be in a customer facing roll, if she does not wish to provide good customer service. The sandwich was eventually prepared after my colleague waiting for 10 minutes whilst she pulled her face and was huffing and puffing and the rest of the queue who came in after us was served and gone. This service was absolutely appalling and I think the lady needs retraining in...

Giving a 5 following two bad experiences. We have been customers for over 18 years. We just love the quality. Really is much better than others...... great selection of quality food. The manager of the region had to talk with me re my complaint. However professional manager who sorted the issue. We re visited eccleston bakery twice this week and both times much better happy experience. The lady who hardly smiles is now smiling and the other lady not in, so all in all a great visit. My parents love this place! I myself feel it's way to over priced for what it is, the sandwich meat is very poor and the salad is not even enough to be classed as a salad and on 3 separate occasions now when ordering on behalf of my parents there have been missing cakes that have been paid for! I now have to check items before I leave the area to ensure the order is right! the staff are pleasant but the food quality is poor, like I said if my parents didn't like it so much I would avoid...
