The courtyard coffee shop — Restaurant in St Helens

Always been curious about this place so whilst looking after the grandchildren took the opportunity, dog friendly which is a bonus as my 26 month old puppy is never from my side, welcoming entrance into the Courtyard, outside and inside dining available with a cover over some outside tables, staff welcome you with a smile and show you to a table, a bowl of water was immediately provided without asking and before even I had ordered lol, menu is to satisfy everyone and their budget, I ordered the Courtyard Benedict with extra sides of blackpudding and hash browns, and a large lattè, extremely satisfying and hit very delightful note, one of the best breakfast/brunches added to my list, blackpudding and hash browns cooked to perfection not greasy or soft as some places, plenty of hollandaise sauce, eggs slighty running, with the chorizo providing the smokey tang, I have seen some very negative reviews about this place which I am very suspicious of as the reviews are locked profiles, the day I came was extremely busy, the staff were all very pleasant, went out their way to make you feel welcome, drinks and food order came out very quickly and hot, I would highly recommend The Courtyard, thank you to you all for a very nice brunch from myself and Eira...

We have been meaning to visit this cafe for sometime but today whilst the sun was out we decided to have a breakfast out to make the most of the sunshine. We was not disappointed, we was very pleasantly surprised by the outdoor eating area and indoor facilities. We waited for a table as it was very busy but quickly seated outside which we wanted. We opted for a cooked breakfast, I changed some of my items which was no problem at all. Wow it was tremendous 👏 very nice, hot and plenty of it too and the butter on the toast so 😋 yummy. I visited the toilet b4 we left and they were spotless. Service was great nothing too much trouble. We will be definitely be coming back soon

Nice place, nice toilets. However, the food was awful. Had to wait forever, then it came out cold and lumpy. I appreciate staff are busy, but the service was below par and some of the staff aren't friendly at all. I clearly didn't eat mine, I sent it back. They offered to make something else, but if you can't get the basics right, then I'm not interested. No complimentary coffee, for messing anything up, which costs next to nothing. Tried to charge me for sending my meal back. Yeah OK then. Not happening. If they'd have handled it more professionally, I wouldn't have left this review.
