No where near as big as it looks from the outside. We felt as though we had to sit in the bar area as all the other side was full with people eating meals. Didn't like the way the landlord was speaking to staff, I think it was his Mrs. But still not Infront of customers pls! He was on a rant about cleanliness, from where I sat I could see quite a bit of dust that had clearly been there a while.

We went for Sunday lunch today. The food was good well cooked and plentiful, was £11 95 for 1 course, for 3 of us with a drink each it was £43 65. Only had a choice of chicken or gammon, we had the chicken. We waited about 50 minutes for the food to be served, which is a long time to wait.

We had a really poor meal and experience here on Sunday. We ordered two cheese burgers and chips, fish fingers and fries for our two-year-old and some salt and pepper wings on the side.

The burger patties were half the size of the bun, with grated mozzerella and a lettuce leaf. Definitely not pub quality. The chips were undercooked, which we had to send back. The burgers came back on their own as they were the last two, and they didn't want them to go cold, so we had to eat the burgers first and wait 10 mins for the chips. When they finally did arrive, they were undercooked again.

The fish fingers were the same. Luckily, our daughter didn't eat any but the one I tried was undercooked and cold. The salt and pepper chicken wings were shop-bought and heated up, and came on a bed of lettuce. No peppers, onions, etc. They were fine, but not at all worth the money, and definitely not salt and pepper.

Even after we had sent the food back, no-one came to check on us to make sure everything was okay. As soon as we stood up to leave, someone rushed over to clear our plates and it was obvious they were avoiding talking to us. After I got home, I called the pub to speak to the manager. He said he would look into it and call me straight back. Two days later and I'm yet to hear from him.

It's such a shame that a local, independently owned pub has let us down like this. Really disappointing as we ate here several times a couple of years ago and it was great. Seems to have gone downhill,...

We visited the windle recently at the end of February. There was a lot on the menu that was unavailable due to a problem with the delivery which happens but my reason for not giving 5 stars is due to the fact that some things we weren't told about until we had already ordered. Some meals came without things such as no onion rings and when people asked about them they said they had none left. The waitress was so nice and we felt bad on her and completely understood but might be worth just popping it down before people order as to what isn't available so people can have the choice around meals. I ordered a peppercorn sauce and had to ask for it and still waited a good while to the point I had to just eat without it as food was getting cold. All in all it was lovely and I would definitely go back. Food was tasty and well cooked and I feel bad putting 4 but this was only for the absence of a lot of food items, some we weren't aware of till food came and the fact that sauce didn't come out and most people had finished theirs before it came out. I had steak and opted for it not to come out on stoneplate as didn't fancy cooking it myself and this was no i problem - it was well cooked and I enjoyed it 😀 nice to have the option as think nice to be able to cook steak yourself...although...

Walked in the bar and ordered a pint of Stella. The barmaid proceeded to pour it in a san Miguel glass. I stated that I wanted it in a Stella glass. The barmaid said that there wasn't any clean one's. I said that there was a clean one in the dishwasher. She said it would be warm, to which I replied that I'm not bothered. Another local said just put it under the cold tap. Then the new manager said under his breath (if you don't like it drink somewhere else). I told him that I'd been drinking in there for over 40 years and to shove his pub. He's been there 6 DAYS yes 6 DAYS. Won't last 6 months. Not seen him introduce himself to any of the regulars. Think he may be suffering from small man syndrome. P.S give the...
