Gardener's Retreat — Restaurant in Stafford

Ordered 2 drinks (Tea and Latte), a slice of cake, and a light lunch:

Drinks took a long time to arrive, when they did eventually arrive, there was no cup provided for the tea, so had to go back to the counter to request one, only for that one to be dirty, so I had to go back another time to get it replaced. Lunch arrived, but no cutlery was provided, and there was no sign of the cake. Had to re-request it as it had seemingly been forgotten

The scampi and chips was nice enough, but the salad wasn't very tasty and was more rocket than anything else. I was also upsold a bowl of coleslaw without being made aware this was £1.99 extra. Probably one of the worst, coleslaws I've had; barely chopped thick cabbage with...

In recent times there has been a significant decline in service and food here. I am disappointed as like to support local business.

The service was slow and from staff who appeared not to care less.

The food was appalling . Fortunately the portion was small ! Despite lots of salad on the menu they had no leaves despite supermarkets or farm shops a very short drive away if supplier had let them down. A bit of cucumber doesn't really count as salad despite the waitress warning they'd no leaves. The omelette was more like a dinky pancake made by someone in their first cookery class.

I shall be going to other garden centre such as Brand hall Farm instead for a while until the previous good standards here...

Serving time issues. The menu states lunch service starts at 11.30 but when I tried to order I was informed that there was a delay until 12.00 The same problems occurred last time we tried to order.
