Quiet restaurant on an early evening but service felt attentive. Naturally lit main dining room, seated on a round table that comfortably accomodated a party of 5. Chose to go straight into the mains, Risotto Mediterraneo with tomato, monkfish, prawns, garlic and basil. Fried monkfish with a bronzed exterior and melt in the mouth middle. The garlic and basil flavours were balanced against the tomato and seafood elements. Fundamentals of italian cooking paired done well with the monkfish highlighted as the star of the show made for a very enjoyable main. Near the end of the dish, oil had settled at the bottom of the bowl making for a questionable mouthfeel. A lemon cheesecake was on the specials board. Tart lemon flavours cutting through the sweet biscuit base, brought together by the consistency of a good cheesecake. Nothing blew me away but the meal was certainly enjoyable. Mid-range prices for what it is. Definitely worth a visit if you're local.

We called back again tonight this place is amazing great staff the place was buzzing, even though they were full we didn’t have to wait for our food. If I could award them ten stars, how can you improve on perfection, but they did it again visit for yourselves. Thank you for a wonderful evening Wow this place is fantastic well worth a visit. It isn't very often a Restaurant ticks all the boxes but this one does Great food Pleasant and very friendly staff. And best of all value for money. Good disabled access entry from the main street out of the car into the building. Please make the staff aware of your needs when booking your table. The Crown carpark is at the rear, a quick 2 min walk over the road well sign posted and it's only a £1 after six Thank You for a great evening and we will be going back.

We were cruising through on our narrowboat and so pleased we came here. Oh wow what a great restaurant. The only slight criticism is when you walk in through the front door you are not sure where to go to be seated. We were eventually greeted and shown to our table. The staff were excellent very attentive. The restaurant was very busy but service was excellent. The food was the best I’ve had for ages, I’m very fussy and it couldn’t be faulted all courses were tasty.

I went here yesterday for the first time as i usually go to the newcastle under lyme location and we had a meal booked for my best friends 20th birthday and i am absolutely appalled, i am not the only one there that witnessed this either excluding the other 6 people at my table, as the table next to us also saw this unfold and was very kind and sympathetic of the situation.

We had a booking for 7:30 last night and everything was great until we got our food, as we were waiting for it one of my friends, who has a slim build for context of the comment, was told that she “looks hungry” as she made her way over to the bathroom, and as the food came to the table she had the same sentence repeated to her as she had her food given to her which was also given to her first seemingly on purpose. that wasn’t the only body shaming comment that was made by this server that night either. the same older man came up to my best friend who’s birthday it was and as the garlic bread was placed on the table he came really close to her face telling her something along the lines of she should “slow down on the bread” which is disgusting behaviour on both comments. these were made by the same server. a man in a red button up shirt. and when her boyfriend went to complain as this made her cry and leave the restaurant we just had the same awful script repeated to us that it was only a joke and that the man meant no harm and that it’s normal table talk when body shaming has never been right and it has always been a disgusting thing to do especially to a woman nonetheless. they tried to convince us it was just table talk to try to get us to laugh as if it’s ever acceptable to make comments like that.

i do appreciate one of the waiters though as he did end up attempting to comfort my friend and did allow us our meals for free and to take in to go boxes as we all simply lost our appetite and refused to eat there however i do not appreciate that it took two hours to come to any form of accommodation after the event i do understand it must’ve been a hard situation for him as he’s just staff but they were not accommodating or understanding what so ever. i believe that the disgusting man who has no sense of gentlemanly behaviour or respect for women should loose his position at the work place as looking at the reviews this is not the first negative experience a woman has had there.

the food that we did attempt to eat once home was also sub par at best and had barely any flavour. the meatballs tasted ready made, the pasta sauces were all weak in flavour and you could just taste pasta water in the majority of the food.

safe to say we will never be returning the atmosphere, the service and the food in the end were all terrible.

i cannot ever recommend this location, pizza di pasta in newcastle under lyme is definitely worth...

If I could, I would have given a minus figure to this review

First of all, I have visited this restaurant many times and always enjoyed the food and ambience. I have even commented positively to friends. However, this will not happen again! My daughter and I visited Pasta Piazza, Stone on Thursday, 13th February. We had been to Derby shopping for a bridal dress for my daughter and decided to call at our favourite restaurant to end the evening. We booked on-line for 8:45pm. Due to unforeseen traffic restrictions, we did not arrive until 8:50pm. We were not asked initially, as is normal, for a drink - in fact I had to beckon to the waitress after 20 minutes for her to take our order. We also ordered 2 glasses of wine with our order.

The drinks arrived promptly but after another 20 minutes had lapsed we were starting to wonder where our food was. As we had not had anything to eat since lunchtime, we tried to save our wine for our meal as I was driving and didn't want to go above the limit.

It was about 9:30pm when a very embarrassed bar gentleman came to our table. He said he "didn't know how to say this, so I shall simply say it". He continued to say that the chefs had all gone home and the kitchen was now closed. He had rang the chefs who said that they were half-way home and would not now be returning to the restaurant. He said the 2 glasses of wine, we had already ordered, would be "on the house". He walked away.

Obviously in view of the time we were too late to go to any other restaurant, we did not want to finish off the"free" wine for obvious reasons and we got up to leave. On the way out I asked the embarrassed bar man if I could speak to the Manager. He said that he too had gone home but promised to speak to him the next day. I left my telephone number and email address.

It is now over 2 weeks and I am still waiting for some acknowledgement. Not even an apology or explanation has been received. I find this attitude to be very disappointing indeed and needless to say we will certainly not recommend this restaurant to anyone again and will not re-visit again...

Myself and my sister attempted to have an evening meal here last night but quickly left as it is clear this restaurant does not cater for people with disabilities. I have uncontrolled epilepsy at the time I did not know I needed to specifically mention this as I have never been to this restaurant before and it has nothing to do with food. We were placed on the top floor of the restaurant which is up multiple flights of stairs which again before booking I was unaware of, in the event of a tonic clonic seizure I would not be able to get down the stairs without an injury. Furthermore we were placed directly under a flickering light which I suggest you promptly have checked and/or replaced (it is above the radiator on the left hand side near the stairs on the top floor). Lastly when we explained all of this to the waiter who is a middle aged bald man with black glasses he clearly did not understand the severity of this and said there were no other tables so we could either sit here or ‘starve’ ( his exact words). Needless to say we left as the light was causing and aura which would have resulted in a seizure had I have stayed under it any longer. Very disappointed as I was looking forward to this evening out but left feeling misunderstood and discriminated against due to my disability. My apologies if I did not detail every single thing in my review as I could continue but I would appreciate it if you did not consistently accuse me of lying! And considering you were not there and nor can you hear the conversation through a camera lens you have a lot to say on the matter, Disgusting behaviour from a company working in catering! Please do not be a hypocrite and lie by saying you are sorry,...
