Pied Piper — Restaurant in Stevenage

Very disappointed today. Firstly we didn’t eat so only one star because of that.

So I called the pub at 4pm to ask if they have any tables I was told by the staff member that there empty and it’s ok to just come so 3 adults 4 children walked up there 10/15 minute walk. To then arrive to be told “you didn’t say how many on the phone” This was not asked either. And 7 is too much for the chef to do as there was only one. Gob smacked this was even an issue and not to do with space. I can’t imagine when they have more than 7 guessed. Wanting food. Went and brought a pizza for the children and sat and ate on the bench returning after about an hour to grab a drink no fualt on drinks to then ask if they can cope with 3 to be told yer there another women there to help run it out so was then confused to if it was the chef that couldn’t cook or the girl behind the bar that couldn’t be bothered to carry it out 🤷‍♂️ either way pub lost at least £150 on meals....

I used to drink in this pub back in the day... but went there last night for the first time in ages as someone said its pretty good for food, I was abit hesitant as I didn't even know they did food! But we went and anyone that has kids knows how hard it can be to go out for dinner with little kids. Also I'm super fussy with food.. 2 of us had burgers, 1 had hunters chicken, n kids had pizza n chips .. I must admit the food was very good ! Burger was really tasty n cooked on point! We all enjoyed the food! N Really good price ! N best of all super kid friendly!! I get really anxious about kids running around etc but they were all so good with kids !! Defo will go again!! I've come here for my first time and I am sure I'll be back. We tried their burgers and the meat was amazing! Their fries were really good too. The atmosphere was also nice. The service was OK, but it could be better. We ordered through the app and the food came before the drinks so we had to go and ask for them. I guess they are more used to orders at the bar than the app. The guy who poured our drinks was very kind and apologise for it. Another reason I gave for stars to service is because we asked for Ketchup and it never came. It's true that we were a bit shy and didn't want to ask again for it so we just ate our burgers and fries without it. Overall, nice place with...
