Food is okay but expensive for Stoke and for what we got

I dined as part of a 45 person reservation and after being seated at 1930, starters served at 2000, mains weren't served for another 2 hours. I've never had a two hour wait in my entire life between courses, the mains were a set menu so there can't have been any surprise requests.

After waiting for so long we requested an extra plate of some dishes, when it didn't arrive after 30 mins we were informed the dish must have gone to another table. Ridiculous, no apology no offer of a replacement

Service is abysmal, bookings need to learn to say no if it's going to compromise service delivery - was surprised to see every table was full when we walked in, no space to flip tables

There were large parties on other tables who arrived before us and we saw them receive mains even after us

no dedicated bar/wait staff looked like everybody was doing everything. Looked very busy but no coordination

Some wait staff were obviously well trained and tried to check in with us if we needed anything or how food was but they're ultimately powerless to bring the food out any faster

Barbacks stopped cleaning glasses leading to 20-30 min waits for all drinks (even water) and only serving bottles without glasses whilst the entire bar was full with dirty glasses

We have been here a few times now and the last time was disappointing with the no deserts thing but last night was just downright poor. The food was ok - normal takeaway standard, nothing special for the prices and the reputation this place used to have. We went out for a friends birthday so it was a special occasion. The drinks order was wrong. We ordered starters and mains with some confusion due a language barrier. One of the starters was wrong but we ate it, that was fine. The mains came and there was a chips and a rice missing, we had to call someone back to say that we were missing food. The restaurant was pretty empty for a friday night. I think there was a total of maybe 20 people in there all night. At no point did anyone ask if everything was ok - not a huge deal but not what you expect from Bauhinia when you know what it used to be. We didnt bother asking about deserts because they have stopped/given up on doing them. We sat at the table talking for a good hour after we finished eating. No one came to ask if we wanted more drinks or if we wanted anything else. They must have missed out on a good £40 worth of drinks for the table in that hour.
