Visited 18.04.22 5:15pm for a booking of 5 people for my little brothers 8th birthday and had a fantastic visit from start to finish. Loads of space to park on arrival, with parking redeemed at the console on the bar. We were immediately greeted by someone when we arrived who directed us to our table (a lovely spacious round table near the back of the room). We ordered food and drinks, and as a vegetarian family we're all really happy with the veggie options. For drinks we had a couple of soft drinks, a cider and a bottle of wine (very good at £11!). For food we had 2x nut roast carvery, 2x brie, mushroom and cranberry Wellington and 1x margherita pizza for the birthday boy. The pizza was apparently so good that half way through he said he wanted a second one! (He didnt live up to this and had to take his final 2 slices home). The carvery options were both incredible and bursting with flavour. The veggies were brilliant and all tasted fresh, and the guy on the carvery counter was really friendly 👌 All food was a fantastic price, around £8 for carvery is unbelievable and an absolute steal. I was absolutely stuffed but the rest of the group had bottomless ice cream, which looked great with a self serve station equipped with toppings and sprinklings. My partner had the chocolate brownie which looked lovely. I opted out of dessert but finished off with a lovely fruity tea. Also to note, this place is fantastic for kids. There's a small play area outside and the staff have my brother some choccy as it was his birthday (lovely touch). They also had some colouring in bits for a prize draw, great to keep the little ones entertained. All around a really pleasant experience, with exceptionally friendly and helpful staff, delicious food, fantastic prices and a general top tier atmosphere. Will be looking to make this a new regular visit!

Probably the worst carvery I've ever had. The woman serving the meat was borderline rude and I was given the end of the beef that she hacked up and dumped on my plate. It was mostly burnt or just fat. None of the vegetables looked appetising so I only had cauliflower cheese. It was tasteless mush so I didn't eat much of it. I have no idea how they managed to get the roast potatoes burnt AND soggy at the same time. I don't know how best to describe the gravy, gloopy slop I suppose. All in all it was nasty. We had to go out and buy sandwiches from Tesco on the way back to where we were staying for the night as we left there hungrier than when we arrived.

Never been before but i will in the future. Booking up online was easy. The table had our names on it and the table was clean and had clean utensils. The staff members was kind and helpful and the cook behind the carvery was very funny and kind. The food was very well prices and my meal tasted very good and had lots to pick from The toilets was clean and smelt nice. The bar was well equipped and all bar members went that extra mile to ensure you knew the prices before purchasing. The lounge section was small and smart and had two tvs.

Me and my children visited barley mow for the first time on New Year’s Eve , we wasn’t greeted by any member off staff and i had to walk around with all three toddlers looking for a table with our name on it, the fact the whole restraunt was pretty much empty should have told me enough really … after several minutes we managed to find our table and when I asked a member of staff regarding how to order on the app she stated she didn’t know and walked off! I finally managed to order some food via the app and although all kids eat for £1 we were charged full price for all 3 meals (children’s ) , whilst waiting for their food , I requested some crayons and paper for my children to draw on I was told were they were and to go get them my self ! upon arrival of the children’s pizza to be specific it came with cucumber sticks (which I did. It order as neither children like these) when I questioned as to why they weren’t chips which I had selected on my order the lady responded very rudely how she hasn’t got enough hands to carry everything at once which is completely understable but the way she approached the question was appalling !! I apologised on my behalf as I didn’t realise and again she rolled her eyes and walked off from our table ! When I then went to get both mine and my friends carvery we had to wait a while for the chef to come out , when he did he was well mannered which was a start however half of the vegetable selection wasn’t put out and I had to go back to my table and wait for it which then made my food cold !! I didn’t complain at this point as my children had almost finished their dinner and I just wanted to eat mine before they began to get bored and restless ! The Yorkshire puddings were rock solid , along with the stuffing and roasters . The only thing that was hot on my plate was the couliflour cheese and carrots and that was only because they had just been made , it was almost like the food had been sat there for a while due to the restraunt being empty … the meat was absolutely disgusting and the gravy was so watery it fell off my plate the moment I poured it on .. half of the staff were stood around laughing and joking whilst we had to wait ages for our drink , which made all of my children restless as they had finished majority of their meal and was clearly thirsty! All in all this is probably the worst experience I have had at a stonehouse carvery and unfortunately I don’t think I will be taking my children back here without satisfaction that 1. The food is more delightful to eat and is ready at the same time and 2.The customer service is a lot better because majority of the members of staff were nothing but rude to me even when I tried to be understandable about their faults !!! For £56 this was atrocious and I’ve had nothing but an awful tummy ache since and so has my friend who...

Do not recommend

Started of our experience with a phone call telling us to come in earlier than what we had booked or else we couldn’t have the carvery. We didn’t want this anyway so we were not bothered but thought it wasn’t a great first impression. Then we went in and we greeted by a nice person behind the bar told where to sit and come back to the bar to order. Ordered and paid for our food and waited not too long which was good. One thing I’d also say is that it was really cold. I was sat next to a radiator that was on, I think but had goosebumps with my coat on. The food came was chucked down on the table then the waiter just left. I ordered the chicken burger and my partner ordered a pepperoni pizza with a side of battered mushrooms + cheese and tomato pinwheels. My chicken burger looked vile, smelt vile and tasted it. The chicken had clearly been kept on hot hold for too long. It was discoloured a dry as a stick of chalk. The chips were hardly cooked and the singular piece of lettuce underneath was limp and soggy. My parter said his pizza was ok but wouldn’t get it again. I would have said something if someone had come over to ask us if everything was ok but no one came over at all even though there was only 3 other tables. We did go at 8 so I can understand if staff are tired and don’t want to do everything fresh but when it comes to things like a piece of chicken, chips and battered mushrooms either say you don’t have it or just make it fresher. This is not a value pub it’s one that wants to be so cheap they have zero standards. So all round it was a terrible experience with terrible food. I’ve left hungry and...
