Having decided to split a common journey between Cardiff and Boston we consulted ‘Park for Night’ and were encouraged by the reviews. Firstly this is a great place to park your motorhome, for the price of dinner. Nina was a wonderfully generous host, faultless range of drinks and wonderfully cheery welcoming and service, particularly to our dog, who made his way through a treat from her ‘tin’. Brett offered a sausage and the dog was sold, this is now his favourite pub, his favourite new best friends and a canal on the doorstep for exercise and a little duck worrying! Brett is the chef, we visited midweek and both had specials. The rack of ribs was cooked to perfection, but the crowing glory tonight was the water buffalo burger, to which my husbands initial comment was ‘that’s amazing!’ This place is a gem, and we will now always split our journey and spend the extra night, quietly reflecting on a meal worth every Penny. We will see you again on our return leg in April and every time we are any where ‘loosely’ in the area. Many thanks for a lovely meal and a lovely evening. You made us feel so...

We love this traditional pub. We went again on Sunday before we took our dog for a walk along the canal towpath, we eat before we walk as the portions are so good you need to walk it off 🙂. I had the chicken Sunday dinner 😋 and my husband and daughter had other food from the menu, and there is plenty to choose from. We also asked if they could do a doggy dinner with a bit of bacon and a sausage for the dog and they were happy to, we were amazed when it came out 2 rashers and 3 sausages, to say our dog was happy was an understatement, there was that much we asked them to wrap it up and we took it for his treats on the walk. All I will say is you must visit here if you are in the area, either just out walking or on the canal on a boat, the staff are always friendly and the location is great and the pub is warm and welcoming, we will be...

We stopped here for lunch twice on our stay near Long Itchington. The first time because it was the first place we found on our walk and the second time because it was the only place open. The food on both visits was very good. The kids loved the southern fried chicken basket and my rump steak was very good value. The apple and blackberry crumble was the best I’ve ever tasted. The menu is about to be updated so it may be different if you choose to visit. We found the staff to be delightful and very accommodating. After a long mornings walk we were looking forward to giving the kids a little screen time (judge away - we really don’t care), sadly batteries were flat but the landlord happily moved a extension cable around so we could charge them. A really lovely atmosphere and we will certainly...

Came across this pub while out on our boat. Called in for a drink with our 4 dogs.. We ended up eating there, too. Was good grub good portions ! The landlord was very friendly Saying good evening to him as we were leaving.. Casually asked about the next day opening for food. He said from 10.30. That we could call in. They would even do us a bacon and egg butty... The next morning we went had a yummy bacon and egg baguette... We found the staff so friendly and accomodating we decided to stay an extra day. We went back that evening for food n drinks. Again, it's so welcoming.. I would seriously recomend this pub. Great staff , great food , great drinks, and a great spot right by the canal. Big thank you to the landlord and landlady Rich and Sarah. X
