The Warren @ Attwoolls — Restaurant in Stroud

What a fantastic cafe and even better than previously! The bar was was set very high and we can honestly say The Warren have absolutely smashed it much higher! The five of us dined on really nice food, expertly cooked, served to perfection and very good value for money. We arrived about 11:15am on a Weds and were served straight away, not that we were in a rush. It was all lovely and served piping hot and we particularly liked the delicious sausages & bacon. I'm gluten intolerant and contacted the owner the evening before and my messages were answered instantly, she couldn't have been more helpful. All of the staff were friendly, attentive and went above and beyond to ensure we were happy. My breakfast was absolutely superb and the chef even asked me how it was but she honestly didn't need worry as it was excellent. We ate here Monday 28th October. The food consisted of 3 tough, chewy and possibly reheated jacket potatoes. 2 of these were tuna mayonnaise with barely any mayo. The other was prawn mayo which was ok. The accompanying salad was mostly iceburg lettuce with 1 or 2 cherry tomatoes and some barely there cucumber. The worst part was the older woman who was very rude, bordering on aggressive. Thankfully the younger member of staff was the complete opposite; friendly, helpful and happy. The older lady could learn a thing or two from her! We definately won't be returning but heading up the hill to the garden...

A waste of time and money. This was our 3rd and final visit to the cafe and on each of those occasions the food order took far too long and the portions were minimal. On our most recent visit the cafe was not busy, yet we were waiting almost 50 minutes for a ploughman's lunch which turned out to be nothing more than a small child's portion with a heated up bread roll. Furthermore, on each of our visits the 2 young female assistants lowered the tone of the cafe through their giggling and lack of attention towards customers. We do...
