First time ordering from here and it’s safe to say I am absolutely horrified and will NOT be returning. To begin, I found the woman on the phone to be quite abrupt. Went to collect and was just told what I owed no please or anything. I then asked if I could pay by card. I was ignored. A few moments go by and she came out with “ I told you like I’ve told everybody all day it’s cash only” she most certainly did not. But then proceeded to the pull the cash machine out when I’d said I wouldn’t have came had she said that as I don’t have any cash in me. Asked for garlic in our carbonara instead got chicken which tasted like it was 3 weeks out of date. Didn’t taste like a carbonara at all. Picked all the chicken out and tried to eat the rest but was completely put off. The minute I put the food in the car there was a strong perfume/sweet alcohol smell coming from the food. When I got home and opened the box of chips it was coming from them. I have no idea what was put in them but the taste and smell of them was horrific. The ingredients, meat especially needs looked into and I think they need to do better than the chav they have representing their buisness. Zero customer service...
Read moreThis is the 2nd time I have ordered from Fabio’s, Houghton-le-Spring. Each time the food has been top quality and very tasty! I should mention though that each time I have used the pre order online facility I have experienced minor problems. My first order, in early May, arrived at the specified time but a full 24hrs early. This was sorted by Fabio’s and our meal arrived fresh and on time the following evening. Keeping in mind our previous experience I decided to pre order online but on the same day as we required our meal. The system is easy to use! I submitted the order at about 10:15 am and specified delivery for 7:15 pm that evening. However when I received a confirmation email it said our meal was ‘cooking’ and would be ‘delivered ASAP’. There was no reassuring mention of the 7:15 pm delivery that I had asked for. I had to ring Fabio’s just after 12:00 pm to confirm our delivery time. Read moreNormally never have any issues with this restaurant as the food is always amazing and I'm a regular and loyal costumer but unfortunately after my experience on Sunday just gone, I will no longer be doing business here. Delivery driver was late due to going to wrong address as he didn't search my postcode (despite me always leaving notes on my orders that there's another address with the same as mine not far). When he called, he had a tone of voice with me like he was blaming me for him showing up at the wrong address and didn't apologise for his mistake. When the food finally came it was freezing cold, multiple items were missing from my order, some of the food was undercooked and some of the food items were damaged from what looked like it had been dropped. I tried to resolve this privately with the restaurant by my messaging them but they read my message and ignored me. I ended up claiming the money back...
