I took my mum to this restaurant as a treat as she came to visit. The starters were delicious but when the main arrived, my mum started to eat her prawn pad tai and found a hair around one of the prawns that she had already in her mouth. I showed the waiter and he brought us a new one. But after that our stomachs turned and we found it difficult to carry on eating. We decided to leave soon after that without finishing the meal. I asked for the bill and I explained why we didn’t finish the food, the waiter/manager said it wasn’t their problem and pointed at the card machine for payment no considering removing at least the charge for the pad Thai. He didn’t apologise even once, found him rude. We left very unhappy and don’t think we will return. Shame used to be a nice place but totally disappointed by the attitude. Will not return and will...
Read moreThis is my first time trying chapter5 Thai since they changed hands 2-3 times before. I have to say I was a bit disappointed. I ordered the beef kraprao and it was meant to be ‘very hot’, but it was too mild for me. Beef was also very chewy. My husband had the chicken with ginger sauce and he seemed to enjoy that though. I also ordered the prawn and mince chicken vermicelli salad. There could have been more sauce/dressing and the chicken was just slices of very dry chicken breast - it was not mince chicken.
It’s quite an expensive takeaway, considering £30 got us just 3 dishes - I made my own rice at home. We did get a small packet of Thai prawn crackers thrown in for free though which was a nice touch.
Overall quite disappointed and most likely won’t be ordering again unless I’m absolutely desperate and out of...
Read moreThis is a great Thai restaurant, very authentic. Lovely staff too. Four of us went in at lunchtime, three ate off the lunch menu, two courses for just over a tenner. I had (main menu food) a satay chicken & a chicken salad. Portions slightly larger from the main menu (eg two satay skewers versus four) but all excellent dishes, chicken salad was wonderful and plentiful. Quick service too. We saw two ladies come in at 12, order, eat, pay and left in 30 mins. Parking in pay and display just round the corner. Perhaps only negative was drinks are expensive, even soft drinks. But overall still very...
