There is a McDonalds on the moss very close by. I'd recommend using that one. This one (on snipe retail park) is terrible.
I used the drive through last week. I ordered a cheeseburger with no pickles. No fries, no drink, nothing. Just a simple cheeseburger with no pickles. I was told to park in the waiting bays. When I tried to do that I found I couldn't because the bays were already full of other drive through customers who had been told to wait there. I asked a member of staff where to park and she looked at me like I'd asked her to explain Einstein's theory of relativity in depth.
She wanted me to try and put my car on the corner (where other cars from the drive through would have to squeeze past to exit the car park) I saw that one customer from the waiting bays was leaving so I waited for her to drive away so I could use that bay but instead yet another drive through customer nipped into the spot because, despite the waiting bays being full, the staff were STILL sending customers there!
I pulled into a click and collect bay and had to actually go into the store to tell them where I had ended up having to park. When my order finally arrived (took far longer than it should have done) I had to wait outside my car and call out to the staff member because she clearly had no idea where I was despite me having gone in and told her in the restaurant where I was going to be.
My cheeseburger was luke warm at best, and, despite my requesting otherwise, it had pickles on it.
The snipe mcdonald's has a reputation for being unreliable and mismanaged. I often avoid it because of that, but I decided to give them a chance that day, needless to say, I won't be back.
The staff seem confused about what's happening most of the time and getting the wrong order or part of an order missing seems to be run of the mill. Service is slow and they just seem unable to communicate with each other.
Mcdonalds is normally pretty reliable with its service and speed but this one is easily the worst I've ever been to. I hope they fix it sooner rather than later because it really is below par. Serious staff...
Read moreDear Manager,**
I am writing to express my utter disgust and disappointment following a deeply distressing incident at your McDonald’s branch on Snipe Way, Ashton-Under-Lyne. On 20-05-2025 I purchased a portion of fries for my 3-year-old daughter, only to discover a human hair embedded in the food as she began eating. This is not only revolting but a blatant violation of basic hygiene standards and food safety regulations.
As a parent, I am appalled that a global brand like McDonald’s would serve food contaminated with such negligence, especially to young children. This incident has left my daughter distressed and has shattered my trust in your establishment. Hair in food is inexcusable and poses serious health risks—it is clear your staff failed to adhere to even the most fundamental hygiene protocols.
I demand:
A detailed explanation of how this occurred and what immediate corrective actions will be taken. Assurance that your kitchen practices will be rigorously reviewed to prevent such violations in the future.
This is a serious breach of the Food Safety Act 1990, and I will not hesitate to escalate this matter to the local Environmental Health Authority if your response is unsatisfactory. I expect a written apology and confirmation of your remedial actions within 5 working days.
The lack of care shown here is unacceptable. You have endangered a child’s well-being and disregarded customer trust. I trust you will treat this complaint with the urgency and...
Read moreThis is a pretty decent branch of McDonalds the Worldwide Fast Food Burger Chain - service is pretty quick and the food the same as at all UK chains
While the drivethru can sometimes be quite busy due to the nearby retail park, the trick is to park up nearby or outside and get out and walk in. This way is much better to ensure you get the relevant sauces, salt, pepper and napkins without worrying about forgetting anything after. Also the place is very clean from the times I have been in so not issues there.
Do note that as is usual for places like this there can be at times an increase in the rowdier crowd - whether it be the late night outgoing crowd or the homeward drunks or the afterschool club but there never seems to be much issue as the area is relatively well monitored I believe due to the retail park it is on.
There is also a bus stop literally almost outside and metrolink stop just up the road which provides easy access to...
