Sweet Vintage — Restaurant in Tameside

New Owner in place!! I only returned to Sweet Vintage today after finding out a new owner is in place. A familiar face was there to welcome me and the atmosphere was significantly improved, with everyone putting customer care first alongside an easy going but professional attitude. The review below was only in respect of the previous owner, so I’ve updated this to ensure the new one isn’t judged unfairly. ☺️

Past Review - We’d ordinarily be on our way this morning but after a lady barked at me and my baby last Saturday, we’ve decided we won’t be back.

I was seated, given a menu and told food would be a 30 minute wait. The young server then walked away before I could order. I followed and said I’ll order immediately as I know what I want, only to be rudely interrupted by an older lady who had just walked out of the kitchen carrying sausages shouting “No, no! You can’t order. You can’t order until everyone who is seated has ordered!” She shouted this while serving others loud enough to startle my baby and for the whole cafe to hear and stare. I was shocked and confused, so I said alright and walked back to my table being watched by all. No sooner had I sat down than the young server followed to take my order. My husband, seeing I wasn’t happy, politely told the server we wouldn’t be ordering and we left.

Suffice to say I knew we were the only seated customers whose order had NOT been taken and there was absolutely no need for the lady to shout at me as if I’d just cheekily walked in off the street to push in. In fact, there was no reason for her shout at all. You may be busy but that doesn’t mean customer service goes out of the window. I’m sure we’re not the only people who won’t part with good money to be shouted at because you’re stressed doing your job. In any case, you now have two less customers to...

Lovely little tea shop in the middle of Mossley. All the staff we encountered were super friendly and could not have been more helpful. The food was excellent, very fresh and nicely presented. The scones in particular were delicious and the coffee really good too. Returned today to celebrate our sons intimate marriage with an afternoon tea. Bride and groom were made to feel very special. The table had been laid out lovely with pretty tablecloth and vintage tea service. We were rather early but it wasn't a problem and the staff made us feel very welcome. Went to Sweet Vintage recently for Breakfast. Where do i start. The staff, all really friendly and helpful, you can tell they all really enjoy what they do and they'regood at it. Very professional. The Breakfast, It was by far the best Breakfast I've ever had. All really well cooked and a good size portion. Sausages were amazing and sauced from the butchers conveniently next door. None of them flavourless supermarket sausages. The place itself is decorated really well and it's easy to just relax and enjoy yourself there. My only downside would be it could have been a little warmer inside but it's understandable as it didn't have much time to warm up with customers constantly coming in and...
