The Coffee House — Restaurant in Tameside

So my Nan has stage 1 dementia, she’s gone into this cafe with my dad paid for her food and 10 minutes later gone back to get my step mum food. A week later she’s gone in again and they’ve told my nan that her transaction the week before didn’t go through and she had to pay £20 so she paid the £20… she’s got home and my step mum checked her online banking and both payments from when she went with my dad and then went back to get my step mums food had gone through and it was only £18. My nan said to them “your taking the mick coz of my dementia arent you” and they laughed at her. So not only did they scam her because of her dementia but they took the mick out of her aswell and now my nan has anxiety about even walking past the cafe let alone going back in. I can’t even express how angry and disgusted I am and best believe I’ll be going down to kick when...

Love this place! I would normally pick up a sandwich or a jacket potato to take out. On the odd occasion I get to eat in, the atmosphere is just brilliant! Typical northern hospitality, charm and cheek and a laugh. Coffee is lovely and the food is nice too but the cakes and sweet treats...nom nom nom delicious! Plus my little dog is welcome and he enjoys his "cut into bite sized pieces" sausage. Great...
