We went to have a quiet drink on a Saturday afternoon when we had young children playing hide and seek under the tables for the duration of our visit 1 hour roughly. (We would have stayed longer if we hadn’t had such a poor experience, as we have been going in for 26 years). When we complained about it at the bar, the lady said she would look into it. Minutes later the landlady Gill came to ask what the problem was and said it was a family pub and couldn’t see the problem. We were then asked to leave. She asked a guy outside to see that we left. The guy called Paul was very nice with us and said he understood our concerns and the landlady wasn’t in the right frame of mind. All the people involved seemed to be related and ganged up on us. On the hole a very unpleasant experience!
Thank you for your reply if somewhat distorted. It wasn’t my wife who had the problem with the children, it was me. We have a 3 year old grandson and love kids. We just don’t expect to go for a chilling drink and have them running around playing hide and seek, even if it’s a family friendly pub. My wife did not poke you in the back. And the man who you asked to escort us was outside, so couldn’t have witnessed most of the incident. As we went outside he was very friendly towards us, so much so that my wife felt like giving him a hug. He said it would just be better if you left. My wife had previously been chatting to the 2 men sat at the adjacent table before the other couple sat with them.
Having read some other reviews of your pub, quite a few people must be on the same page as us. We hope this will be the end of the matter. We’ll put it down as a...

Inside its a traditional type of pub and decor. It was the Quack night, held on Mondays, with live bands and singers. An enjoyable evening. Well worth a visit for friendly and helpful staff and...
