Love this place...has absolutley everything here ..safe water play ..Bouncy Castles Sand pit..Cafe Toilets and Play area ...rock up on a summers morning pitch your blanket and there you are for the day ( prepare to go early and be crowded out as best spots go very quickly then it's edge to edge family picnics all day long!)...we go fairly early loads with sun cream does clothes drinks picnic and books ..yes books ..!!we take it in turns to watch the Children so everyone gets at least an hour to themselves ...and just literally spend the whole day there ...we are very fortunate to have lifts there and back so don't need to worry about parking as it is fiercely competitive with restrictionsall around the Park and quite rightly so it is in the middle of a residential area...but ladt time we stayed until the fountains turned off as it was such a lovley day and the Children were on school holidays and having such fun..and yes were were one of the last people to leave ...but I would please make this one point to anyone visiting ...please keep your own area tidy and clear up after yourselves ...it iß a beautiful green space and enjoyed by many many people but wildlife visit after we have gone home and while there is certainly always an abundance of food left over for them to scavenge ..the plastic and other rubbish is dangerous ...as,well as littering and polluting ..it's simple to take care of it ..just take an extra bag ..or a black bin liner keep it nearby ..we the it on one of the fold up chairs we take or a handle if the buggy we dump all the spare stuff on ..and at the end if the day we leave it beside the numerous waste bins which are undoubtedly overflowing or even better we take it home and recycle in our own bins ...it's your waste ..your responsibility...please don't take these spaces for granted and have a little respect for the time you have enjoyed ..it's a simple thing to do ..bit if you have never visited please put it on your calender..easiky accessible for all ages and all abilities ..stay an hour or two in the mor ing while its quiet and enjoy a stroll around there are nice walks Bowling greens and even areas we haven't seen yet ..a miniature railway ..two Ice cream vans and even A boating lake ( outside the Park area and across the main road at back of the hospital)....or take your chances later on in the day ..to find a spot to perch ..either way this beautiful Green space is a must on our Calendar for Family events ..and very much enjoyed by everyone..thank you Stamford Park Ashton ...see you...

The fountains are huge fun for the kids, little train to go around the grounds, great toddler playground with sandpit, and a nice big playground with swings & zip slide for older ones, but they've taken down the big tower slide which my kid used to enjoy. It's a shame dogs have to be on leads on the entire site, I can understand near the play areas, and no bins in evidence for dog mess. I took mine on a walk today along the old Dingle, it's a real shame how it's been left to stagnate with no money to take care of it, dirty water full of rubbish, all the stonework overgrown. "Time has not been kind" it says on the signs, well no, it won't be, if you don't look after it! I was excited to see the old waterfall but doesn't exist anymore. I see they've torn down the old conservatory & I wouldn't be surprised if the aviary is gone too, last time we came you couldn't go inside and we had to peek through the walls. Frankly this must have been an amazing park back in its hey day, but it's been going downhill steadily over the years (been bringing my kid now for 12+ years) - now it's not much, only the fountains stand out, and one nicely planted flowerbed. The place could do with public toilets too, the café closes at 4pm and the ones on the main road are locked. This country seems to have forgotten what parks are all about, no investment, then people wonder why the younger generations don't care & vandalise everything. Honestly just made me sad seeing the neglect, might still be a great park if all you want is the water fountains, playground & space for the kids to play football but it used to have...

Loads to do here from the duck pond at the bottom you can have a short nature walk up along the side of the park where you can visit the aviary with its little collection of cute small animals, all children love these. There is the bowling green which I think has its own club. There is a sanded play area that is fenced for the younger children and various activities for the older ones which are very well spaced out. If you want to take a picnic along there is plenty of space throughout the park to enjoy this or you could buy your dinner from the on site cafe although there is no eating in at the moment with COVID safety restrictions and the toilets are still open and available to use during the cafe opening hours. There is a caged area at the top where you can play tennis, football, badminton etc. The water fountain area has been a massive hit since it was introduced a few years ago, definitely a source of entertainment that most of the children want to experience when they visit so advisable to take a towel and change of clothes along with you. With the train rides available for a short trip around the park and the boating lake just across the road at the top, where there are various activities available, you could easily spend an entertaining day here with your children and they would...

A beautiful park to visit for a walk or a picnic with family, it's a shame the tropical conservatory is no longer here, it has some beautiful exotic plants in it. The bird sanctuary is lovely, birds of all kinds are well looked after. There is a nice little train ride that you can take a ride in around the park which is great for kids. The cafe is good, simple but friendly staff and clean. The food is nice and the toilets are clean. The park has a Victorian walk that you can do with little waterfalls and bridges, it's off the main paths so can be a bit muddy in parts. Also I'd like to mention the Adorable Squirrel friends of the park that love to come and see what food you have for them, they are not shy to get up close and will take nuts out of your hands if your calm and gentle. I definitely would recommend a visit it's a great place to go for a Sunday walk and a summers day.

It's a beautiful park with miles of walkways and lots of lovely plants, trees and open spaces. The kids play area is really good and when it's active the water thing that kids play in is epic. Water thing is all I can describe it as... Its a slope with some water that squirts up at varying points and a steady stream runs over its surface. It really is fantastic whatever you call it. There are loads of facilities too for things like basketball, football and I believe tennis. Over the road is the boating lake where you can hire row boats or pedalos. When I last visited there were people outside doing some sort of boxing fitness thing. They all looked happy and sweaty encouraging each other. It was really nice to see. It's a true heart of the community is Stamford Park. A visit is always worth your time.

Not been to Stamford Park in over 30 years, and only one building i remember from childhood remains standing is the John Nield Conservatory which is abandoned in use. It was a giant greenhouse. i have forgotten that it has bowling green, gardens, a bird house with various birds. In addition the park has its own dingle - a woodland area, childrens play area, gardens and even the old statues etc. Stamford Park Pavillion has a cafe where hot and cold drinks are available and maybe snacks are readily available for purchase. Toliets are situated within the pavillion, but you need to check opening times accordingly. i spotted a land train circulating the grounds which handy but dont know how often it there or cost. overall a nice little park for families, groups and friends
