YFC — Restaurant in Tameside

Me and my family waited too long for the food to arrive after placing the order online as we were fasting we were given the time frame of 45 mins to 1 hour. 1 hour had passed and we called as anyone would in this situation and I was asked if this was for ramadan to which I replied yes it is, the person on the phone stated I had to put in the comments that I want the food before iftar so they can send out deliveries at 8pm. If this was the case, this should clearly be stated on the website or at least operate your business according the time given on your website or have that changed. The food arrived 1 hour 30 mins later after being told its going to take 5 mins when we first called. Only for it to be left next to our rubble bags that were there due to ongoing housework. We questioned both drivers at this point who said due to covid they had to. It wasnt left on the doorstep as advised by covid regulations it was near the rubble bags. The doorstep was completely clear. We were disappointed over and over again and we were provided with the option of "free food" which I find absolutely hilarious and in some cases may work as a means to save your reputation. But we wanted respect and some responsibility to be taken both with your timings and how you deliver food. Let me just start of with principle and respect. Firstly, I just wanted to make a simple order. Fine, male at the till says “cash” only.. 2025 and you’re doing the old “cash” only business. I’m not making allegations but you do the maths.

Now the only reason I leave this review. I was happy to pay by card. The man at the till speaks another language to the owner. Basically asking permission, the owner says yh he will do it on his phone. At this point the guy at the till just doesn’t say a word, nothing back to me and goes “ok”.

When the owner tried charging m. He added 50p extra. Now I don’t give a crap about that extra charge for card payment. All you had to tell me from the start was “there’s an extra charge for card payment”. That’s fine, I don’t care. I’ll pay the extra but to then say nothing then charge me it and when pointing it out. You then say yh because you’re using card.

The place looks filthy anyway so glad I didn’t even make the order. There’s other places close by, Fryd I think it’s called. You can see them cooking your food and it’s clean. There at least...

I love this place they use good quality Chicken compared to alot of othe places, however leaving 2 stars because, for the spicy chicken burgers they have started using barm cake buns and it just doesn't taste as nice. I have mentioned this a few times via the messaging service and was told it will be resolved. Please start using proper buger buns for your chicken burgers as the one currently used are not the correct ones. I will order again in a few days and will change my review once it has been resolved. (Edit - I changed it to 5 stars because the lads are very good, always have a smile and customer service is great and now and then they will throw in some extras or won't charge for certain items and the quality of the food is honestly one of the best for a independent takeaway. However I do still think burger buns are more suited for the spicy fillet burgers as you have said your self you use floured baps which are for buttys e.g. chip...
