Reading some of the reviews on here and some other websites and watching some YouTube and TikTok videos I’d like to ask how can this place have a HK taste? If I went to HK and ate some chips and drunk some beer, then would I say it tasted of Manchester? Review the food and not what it reminds you of. Now down to the restaurant and its food. It’s budget food that you would eat at school, hospital or in prison. It’s instant noodles, egg sandwiches, fried toast, ovaltine etc. I wouldn’t even cook this food at home never mind queuing up for it. The set dinner is served on a flimsy paper plate which I have no idea why. It’s frozen chips with a thin piece of fried pork that has no flavour. The tea/coffee is £3 which probably cost more than Starbucks for the same size and probably just made with instant coffee. The ketchup provided was the cheap Aldi brand that I would never use at home. My experience of the restaurant was very bad, didn’t like anything I ordered. If these reviewers liked this low quality food so much then come to my house and I’ll cook it you for less than half that price. If I went home and my wife cooked me this food I would tell her to cook me something decent, we are not poor. The mad thing is that people queue for this, you see local people walking past looking and thinking why is this place so appealing, the menu is rubbish. The restaurant is full of HK people reminiscing of HK and want to sit in a room of other HK people having the same thoughts. They even talk louder when they are sat in here like they are sat at home. The only positive thing is the waiters are quite nice and helpful. Don’t believe the positive reviews, if you live further than 20 minutes from this place, don’t make an effort to come here. Get yourself a subway sandwich, Nando’s chicken, Dominoes pizza, they are 10...
Read moreHonestly I don’t know what the hype is about. Tried to visit a few times but there was a queue outside so I decided to skip it. Eventually, today there was no queue so I decided to try out the food. I ordered 2 soups, braised beef rice, the set dinner fried pork chops with chips and coffee, pan fried dumplings, and the Taiwanese fried chicken. The hot and sour soup came first which was actually quite nice, they forgot to bring the shark fin soup so I had to remind the waiter. Next came the braised beef which was adequate but not the best by a mile. The pork chop and chips was ok but only ok and not nice. That is when it all went downhill. The shark fin soup came which they forgot. It was very bland and just tasted like salty hot water. The fried dumplings were not crispy on the bottom and tasted under cooked. Worst dish was the Taiwanese fried chicken. The chicken was wet almost like it’s been sitting in brine for hours. It was over seasoned, too salty and tasted full of MSG. I could only eat 1 piece and decided to take it away to feed the dogs but then decided against as it has too much salt for them. Only place they will be going is the bin. Won’t be coming back to this place. If the Hong Kong people want the Hong Kong taste then...
Read moreSuch a bad experience. We were force to move seats when we were eating. The lady in restaurant without waiting our reply and moved our food to another table. She even put her finger in my drink and took away our unfinished toast. Highly not recommend. To response your comment, my husband said you asked him if he can pay cash to enjoy 10% off and he said we don't have and no need. Then he paid by card and you deducted 10% off directly so he didn't aware this is an apology. For the seat changing, my husband said he didn't remember how he replied you because this is so quickly you moved our stuff. Maybe there is a miscommunication. But how about putting the finger in the drink...? Dismissed the food at the time of moving seats...? I am sorry I just want to share my experience...but it seems like you are so............. Meanwhile, you said you apologise more than once. I am sorry, I really didn't hear that. Are you sure you really feel sorry when you reply the below message? Thank you...
