Greggs — Restaurant in Tamworth

One of the team members continuously placed the tongs used directly onto the sausages rolls.. this continuously caused a cross contamination issue with hand contact, as she handled many other things included money at the same time.. when advised to change her practices she argued with me and called me stupid.. with my many years of practice as an Environmental Health Practitioner this infuriated me. She called her manager who was equally rude to me until I mentioned my job, he was apologetic afterwards.. the luck of understanding of food safety issues the whole team displayed was unbelievable and Greg’s Food Safety Team need to visit the site and retrain the team on site before a serious contamination issue occurs.....

Greggs is a decent venue and they have a regular amount of products. The venue is tiny and they sell out quickly of products and replenishing at risk store has been slow at times recently. There appears to be a lot of newer staff at this venue and they do not appear to be managing the venue to it's best. The covid monitoring at this store is a notice on the counter it does not get enforced and I have been to this store on multiple visits I have made observations that I feel let rise store down. Dishonest staff trying to get rid of cold food saying its still warm.

I asked if the pasties were still warm and they confirmed that they are. I was given cold pasties. Do you think that I would pay for a cold pasty? If the staff can lie to customers about this then i wonder what else they are lying about.

Next time I will be taking some doughnuts for free to see...
