Queens Head — Restaurant in Tamworth

Booked a table for 6 people . Got there and they couldn't find my table, turns out whoever answered the phone had only booked it for 2 people so they ended up having to put us in the pool room. When I went to order, I went to the bar and no one was there but there was a bell. I dinged the bell 2 times a few minutes apart. Staff were walking past the bar and saw me waiting, one lady even poured a drink right in front of me while ignoring me. Took about 10 minutes before finally getting service. I ordered the carvery and some kids meals, the kids pizza looks like they bought the mini one from aldi while the carvery was tiny and came with a side of salad in a separate bowl. We ordered 2 carveries but got one salad between us. We were also treated unfairly because the table next to us ordered 5 carveries but each person got their own side of salad plus their carveries looked bigger than ours PLUS THEY ALSO GOT GRAVY BOATS! Yes I'm jealous, they got bigger, better servings plus gravy. And to top it off, the carvery was burnt, especially the parsnips. Best thing about this pub is the kids play area outside but even...

This place is amazing! The food is so cheap but the quality and quantity is amazing for the price you pay! There’s a little park outside the back for the children to play (which mine loved!) and there’s also a little football area with goals too. I didn’t book but I called up to make sure there was space beforehand.

Honestly, it’s a 10 out of 10 for me as it was somewhere for food and also a place for the children to play.

There’s a decent sized car park which is great.

Never thought to eat here but reviews were favourable so had a quick stop for dinner. It definitely had a drinkers vibe but the lounge was quieter. Anyway, seeing the price of the food (pie / chilli @£5.95!!) we did wonder what the quality would be like. I ordered boozy pie. The puff lid, if I'm being picky, could've been done crisper, but there was tons of tender meat, and the chips and the veg were cooked to perfection.
