I’m currently travelling through England and always like to try different Indian cuisines. Today I wish I never stopped but thought I’d give it a go. From the moment I walked in it was all strange from being stared at awkwardly any how we were seated I didn’t have a clue what I wanted so just went with the set meal for one chicken curry naan rice onion bhaji and poppadom and chutney. We was asked at the beginning if we wanted poppadoms but I said not right now… anyway the food come out and I was greeted with a bowl of what I though was soup I have never in my life seen so much water in a curry!! I also only had 4 small pieces of chicken. The rice was 100% microwaved the only decent thing was the onion bhaji. My poppadom and chutney never came out either and not once did anyone come over and check on us even though the place was virtually empty. And what sort of restaurant don’t have a jug of water on the table. They also used a young black child to bring out some of the food with his hands virtually on the food and wearing slippers that didn’t fit his feet with bare feet hanging out. I felt sorry for the young man. I can honestly say it’s the worst food and experience I’ve ever experienced in a Indian restaurant or any restaurant in all honesty. There should be a 0 star rating to be fair. Honestly can’t wait to get back to Birmingham and have a proper Indian to get over this horrendous experience. I wish I could show a picture of my bowl of soup and how small it was. I would highly recommend the 1 star chippy...
Read moreHave been using this Indian for a takeaway while on holiday over several years but this year June 2024 while on holiday with my lovely wife I went here to get a meal to celebrate our 42nd wedding anniversary!! I think it must have changed hands over last few years !! Everything was tasteless as if forgotten spices !! My Monk fish curry contained about 5 -1/2 " cubes of fish and was swimming in what can only be described as tomatoe soup, my wife's Tandoori king prawns didn't taste like they seen the inside of a tandoori oven !! Gurkha Tiger Prawn starter was tasteless didn't contain any special herbs and spices !! Onion Bhajee had a strange flavour as if cooked in stale oil and wasn't fully cooked, lemon rice didn't taste of lemon and had a burnt flavour !! the whole meal was really not enjoyable and most of it ended up in the bin !! If we had been eating in I would have sent the whole lot back to the kitchen and refused to pay !! This experience was a total waste of £60 and would definitely not recommend after this experience shame because we have had some lovely meals from here...
Read moreThis used to be a favourite haunt but have witnessed it go steadily downhill over the years. Our final outing last night will be the last. Waiter was disinterested and took over 30 minutes to finally take our order after faffing with receipts at the desk. Another hour for the food to arrive. The food was brought over by the manager who had let the food sit on a shelf round the corner for a good 10 minutes and upon finally bringing it over had his thumb in my Sag Paneer! Now the food... Not just watery and tasteless but slimy and inedible. Nothing was tasty, not even the Peshwari nan. Even the rice was suspect. No one asked whether the food was ok, I don't even think anyone even smiled throught the 1hr 45mins we were there. The manager could be heard screaming at the kitchen boys in the back. A terrible experience from start to finish. Ruined the evening. Having given this restaurant the benefit of the the doubt on a couple of occasions... Now it's...
