We had spotted this as we were going through Bovey Tracey one day and decided to go for Sunday lunch. Really excellent service, great table for the dog to be out of the way underneath, ||I opted for the roast beef, food was exceptional, more than enough beef, huge home made yorkshire and tasty roasties. My wife had the nut rost wellington and was definately not disapointed. ||Couldnt resist a home made desert - i had a raspberry merrange with clotted cream. I can honestly say, i am gald i didnt have a starter - i was full. ||The price is amazing too. Exceptionally well cooked, homemade food at very reasonable prices. ||We intend to visit again and cant wait for the weather to imrove so we can enjoy a cream tea in the garden as i understand the scones are worth visiting for alone.||Many locals were in today and apparently is their regular "go to" on a Sunday.||||This is a real tea room and restaurant with home made food, thats not designed to fleece the visitor with good old fashioned customer service.||||If you are in the area, I...

Read moreFound by accident while looking for somewhere cheaper than The House of Marbles for a drink. Ended up sitting in the beautiful gardens and having Devon cream teas. Massive, fresh, homemade scones with individual pots of jam, pot of tea and a dish of clotted cream. Delicious. Fantastic service. Liked it so much came back a few days later for breakfast the day before we came home. ||Had full English with pot of tea. It was superb. Cooked beautifully and no sign of grease on the plate. Baked beans were really tasty and were in a nice thick sauce, ||We were tempted to ditch our plans for the day and stay there eating cake all day once we saw the range of delicious looking and sounding homemade cakes. ||Will definitely be back next time I am in Devon and would recommend to anyone, ||Service was impeccable; so friendly...
