Lilley's Bakery — Restaurant in Tendring

Such a shame a very very rude lady in there stopped us coming in due to her attitude. I hope she sees this as everyone who USED to go here even said how utterly rude this lady is, she seems to be known around here for being rude.

This older Mandy looked us up and down, every time we came in with a disgusted look on her face, maybe because I was in a floor length dress on a hot sunny day? Not too sure. She didn’t seem to even want to serve us or say a simple HELLO back when she’s supposed to say it first… she was just rude and when we came in another day when the door was OPEN she said ‘can’t you see we’re closing soon’ to my partner BEFORE he even opened his mouth about to say he is wanting to get a dozen cakes and earn them a pretty penny, but no she clearly hates people in their 20’s OR doesn’t want our money. A little late, but I just wanted to say 'Thank You' to Lilleys Bakery, Connaught Avenue. I am a key worker and wanted to get some cakes for my co-workers for the end of a long week. I called Lilleys, and they gave me the contact details for their bake house. I rang them on Wednesday, and on Friday morning, as requested, they provided a selection of 35 beautiful individual cakes for me to pick up on my way through to work. They were so carefully packaged, and the one vegan cake was packed individually to avoid contact with the non vegan. On our last visit to Frinton we bought some London Cheesecake and they were delicious. I bought them from Lily’s. On our current visit, we bought two earlier this week from THE OTHER Frinton Bakery (although I insisted to my friend we’d bought from Lily’s last time). Well the two we bought from the other bakers were stale, crumbled when bitten into, had a tiny bit of jam AND cost £1.75 each. Absolutely disgraceful.
