Picked up a takeaway from there last night and my whole family was really disappointed. Food didn't taste fresh, swimming in oil and watery... Every dish, even the noodles, like it had been sitting in a large container for days and then just microwaved. Didn't taste right at all, I felt really ill afterwards with tummy ache. Ordered a salmon green curry for over £8, only 3 pieces of salmon in there, wasn't even given a whole fillet - you could get a pack with two fillets from Tesco for less than that. Waste of money and really overpriced. Wouldn't recommend. Won't be returning 👎👎
Update I have since spoken with the owner of Simply Thai - Gary. Who seemed to be interested in feedback and took on board all of my comments for improvement. I was offered a refund OR a meal (worth what I spent last time) for free! After much thought I have decided on a refund. I have phoned Gary twice and text, no refund yet.. Once I have my money back. I will be happy to change the star rating of my review to reflect the final service I received.
Final Update I have changed my review to 4 stars for customer service only. Gary was not defensive when taking criticism/feedback over the phone. He was swift with a refund (Bank Transfer) after I had made my mind up (as to whether I would return or not as an eating paying customer) which was 20 days after the fact. No quibbles. It is rare to find good customer service. This I will acknowledge and say Simply Thai does look after its customers. Maybe they were just having a bad day (the day we ordered)??? a change of chef?? 🤷 or maybe they are one of those take aways that's just hit and miss - I don't know, but I do know they aim to resolve issues and go the extra mile to please...
Read moreOrdered takeaway this evening from Simply Thai. I have eaten here before and it’s generally pretty good but today I was left unable to eat any of it. I ordered and asked for my dishes to be gluten free like I usually do, as I have an allergy. Collected and when I got home I found out I had egg noodles (made from wheat and not gluten free) instead of rice noodles, which I am usually given. Fortunately I didn’t eat any of it before realising. I called Simply Thai and they told me it was my fault for not asking for rice noodles, even though I asked for the dishes to be gluten free. I was offered no apology and no option to rectify the issue. Instead they continually argued it was my fault and I had to throw all the food away and put my oven on. A very expensive and frustrating evening!!

The owner Gary, refunded the full amount of my order as promised. He apologised and also updated me after talking with his staff about the misunderstanding. Gary was keen to resolve the matter and took the feedback seriously which was reassuring.

Which if you threw them at somebodies head would give them a nasty bruise ( that's how hard they were) singerpore noodles no vegetables to even to be visible. Chicken was non existent Called to complain and got a jumped up rude male who obviously needed more customer service skills!! Slammed the phone down on me. Avoid at all costs.
