Fabulous all round. We found this place purely by chance following a lovely walk along a pathway from Kingsway. (About 22 minute walk using Google Maps) There appeared to be plenty of parking available. Having entered, there was a group of people ahead; staff were quick to greet and seat. Staff were all very friendly, polite and helpful. Having decided on our food we went up to the bar to place our order. (Remember to note your table number). We liked the fact you had the option to pay or have a tab. We were able to sample the wine, to ensure we bought the sweetest available (opted for the Sauvignon Blanc Mud House). The staff could not have been anymore accommodating. Toilets were located to the left of the bar, through a set of doors within the attached Premier Inn reception, very clean. We would totally recommend the Value Menu; 2 Mains for £8.99. You can add specific Starter and/or Dessert for extra £2.49 each. The food was served in a reasonable amount of time. The food was ever so tasty: - Garlic & Herb Mushrooms - Smothered Chicken - Gammon Steak (choice of 2 Eggs, 2 Pineapple or 1 of each) - Caramel Apple Betty Great portion sizes, plenty of chips, I couldn't actually eat them all. The Gammon was by far the best I have eaten in a long time. Whilst we have found in general that quality and quantity have decreased and prices have increased, here is an exception.. Great quality Food, Good Portion Sizes, Fabulous Staff and Nice Location, easy to access from the town. If back in Harwich, we would certainly return to eat here again. We have already recommended to others.

The staff were nice to me (but there was a customer who was threatened to not be served because he walked past the waiting stand) and served my food quickly. I ordered the trio roast dinner which is turkey, gammon and beef with the regular sides (potatoes, vegetables etc). Unfortunately, the restaurant was out of turkey - that may be a good thing as the other meats were drier than sandpaper - and the menu was fasley advertised. In the menu, there was a photo of the food I had ordered, trio of the meats; beef, turkey and gammon, two yorkshire puddings, potatoes, stuffing squares, cabbage, carrots, and gravy. I was served one yorkshire pudding, carrots, potatoes, a plate full of gravy, no cabbage, no stuffing. I understand if there is a shortage of food in the kitchen but I'd like to know if there was, otherwise, I've been cheated. Beside the shortage of food (also meaning the tiny portions), I paid for the unlimited drink. The machine was easy to use despite the syrup for the Dr Pepper drink failing to mix, the other drinks worked. The ice machine was also a simple machine to use and the ice was shaved and seemed fresh. Then, for dessert, I ordered the vegan £4.99 triple chocolate brownie. It was warm and tasteful. Unfortunately, the tables were sticky and still marked with circles from where the previous customers had spilt their drink. The brick walls hadn't been dusted, they were really dusty and smothered in webs. Usually, I wouldn't mind this but the fact that the table was up against this dust collecting wall, I'm concerned about the cleanliness of this restaurant. Overall, two stars because of the tasteless dinner and dirty tables. Two starts because of the edible desert. Could be better and cleaner.

Unprofessional, lax and in open contempt of their guests. The aged bottle blonde Julie W behind the bar sums the ethic of this establishment up perfectly. I had the cheek to ask her the price of the drinks I was buying and was openly laughed at and given no response. I asked where the price list was, she said there wasn't one. All public houses have to have one displayed by law. She then proceeded to give me a very short measure pint of beer which hadn't even been tapped correctly according to the manager. It was hazy and half of it was missing. I booked a table for 5.30 and it wasn't ready so we had to sit in the hope one would be available. I watched the food coming out which reminded me of the sort of slop you see in a prison drama. Meanwhile the staff openly discussed me for having asked the prices and made derogatory comments. I noticed some of them stood outside drinking alcohol while presumably still working as I saw them taking bookings after a couple of pints. At this point I decided I'd rather buy a salad from the supermarket next door and told the manager where he could stick his (lack of) hospitality. This place is a pathetic farce and worse than that breaks UK licensing laws in a number of ways. I'll be reporting them to the relevant authorities and their headd office. I found the price list (which the bar staff was ignorant of) posted on a pillar so high nobody can read it.

Dine for 2. £39 and definitely not worth it. The photo in menu looked better than the actual meal. We ordered one nachos but two come out and told the waiter we only ordered one it said No two had be ordered....Even though we said 1 nachos and extra caujons. He give us the two and left...There advistise a tomato salsa with nachos which wasn't there and no waiter or waitress around to ask.. The mains just got worse.... I order the big stack and it just looked like regular cheese burger...I mean a Big Mac from mcdonalds is bigger and cheaper... My friend order chicken tikka and that looked like a soup plus no nom bread.. It was really watered down... No waiter or waitress around to complain and no check back... We decided to eat as much as we could as was very put off than paid for the bill and left... Overall all a bad experience... Why no check backs to tables??? Won't be returning.
