Overall, we had a disappointing visit to this pub. The starters were tasty. However the mains were average at best. The main issue was my sister ordered a leek and potato pie with mash and vegetables. What arrived was veg, roast potatoes and a Mediterranean pie. When we pointed out to staff this was not what she had ordered, we were told we would have to wait until the chef came back. They then admitted that the leek and potato pie was not possible and this was the replacement being served that day. However this was not told to us when ordering. This was poor and honestly dangerous given that my sister could have ordered something she was allergic to. Staff ought to take more care in communicating this to paying customers. By the time a new dish was served to my sister, we had all finished eating so she ate alone. After this, we ordered pudding and tried to pay. The initial bill was incorrect and when we queried the amount (as it was too much) the waitress said that it was confusing for her to work out. it took three attempts for us to get a correct bill and the staff became visibly frustrated. When we left, there were two other members of staff outside, openly complaining about customers. This again tainted our experience as it is not nice to hear staff complaining about customers whether they are in the...
Read moreCalled into the pub on our way back to campsite, first impressions of the resteraunt was very positive .We were informed that the eating area did not open until 6.00 pm. Later informed that the dining area was fully booked ,bur we were more than welcome to eat in the bar area.
After ordering our meal we asked the question were the chips home cooked , there response was "of course".Upon receiving the meals they were blatantly obvious Frozen. Although the food was of a fair standard the actual portion sizes would not have Benn adequate for a 5 year old . When asked by the staff was everything ok.we mentioned the size of the portions, and the frozen chips was brushed to one side. The overall attitude of the staff was to say the least was not acceptable to our group and certainly not acceptable in a customer care...
Read moreI rarely write bad reviews but we were so disappointed with our meal here. Weâd read such good things and had a family get together in the Cotswolds. All 6 of us plus 2 dogs went for dinner. The starters ranged, pate was good but the prawn cocktail was awful and the glass was all sticky, the spring rolls werenât fresh and weâre like youâd get in Iceland. For mains we had 3 steaks, 2 curries and fish and chips. The steaks were well done despite being asked for medium rare and the quality wasnât great. The curries we left, both were tasteless and chicken was chewy and overdone. The fish and chips was probably the best but again was just okay. The staff were lovely and attentive, they accommodated us last minute with the dogs but honestly the food was dreadful. We left feeling very disappointed. We wonât...
