The Kings Lodge Bar and Restaurant — Restaurant in Three Rivers

Went for dinner with my partner both ordered tomato & basil soups which came with toast and butter, but soup was watery and not very tasty. Then we ordered two sirloin beef roast dinners which had to wait sometime for which the old woman that served us said it would do. We were both ok with that at the time until only one dinner arrived about 25 minutes later so we were sitting expecting the second one to arrive but it never did, so had to say to the young waitress that we ordered two roast dinners after waiting another 10 minutes for it to arrive. She went to find out for us and then the older waitress came back telling us that she made a mistake when taking our order and was laughing as she gave us a very insincere apology and making joke to my partner saying don't you give him any of yours which was out of order and very unprofessional from her considering she was telling us it was her fault in the first place. So young waitress arrived with my dinner which was half full the plate compared to my partner and not very good but the worst was still to come as when got the bill they had charged us for 3 sirloin beef roasts dinners which I noticed and said just as my partner paid with her card. We were both stunned as hardly even got 2 dinners never mind getting charged for 3. terrible food service and still waiting for a refund on the extra dinner that they tried to charge us...

We went here for our breakfast whilst staying at a hotel down the road. We had a full English breakfast and it's was lovely and reasonably priced. I particularly need to comment on the eggs, I have chickens and I'm really fussy, however these eggs were nice and (nearly) as nice as the ones my girls lay 😊, the sausages were tasty too. The breakfast actually saw us though from 11.30am to about 9pm, we just didn't feel hungry as we were so full. The lady who served us (I assume the landlady) was polite, attentive and chatty and we would definitely recommend it. service was amazing. Every need was met, there was little colouring pages for the kids that they gave us, and they were so quick. food was out of this world. For the prices here, I really wasn't expecting anything amazing, but I was pleasantly surprised. A house brick sized portion of fish came out with all the trimmings, and it was beautiful. Other members of the table had a roast (also fantastic and massive for the price), a chicken burger, nachos and the kids meals.
