Midas Meze & Grill Tonbridge — Restaurant in Tonbridge and Malling

Spent £7.95 of a mixed Kofte. Walked in, ordered, went for a quick look in a shop, came back 15min later, collected the food and left.

I was a bit apprehensive seeing the one star reviews, but I know of the restaurant in Seven Oaks and its good reputation so I was expecting a lot.

The portion size was enormous - far more than I was expecting and easily filling an adults plate to almost overflowing.

The meat was well cooked and juicy with no hint of grease or gristle, the bread, rice, salad were all delicious. Not overly complicated just quality tasting. I was very happy with the food and nearly got into an argument with the girlfriend who, after saying they were not hungry and didn’t want anything, kept pinching my food because ‘It’s just too good.’

Going to try this place out a few more time, but if it’s all this good, could actually become my favourite takeout...

2024 Changing from 2 stars to 3 as I’ve had two of their lunchtime chicken wraps. Both times the food was good and the service was friendly.

2021 Ordered a Grill & Meze for 2, went and collected.

When collecting from the shop neither of the male staff acknowledged me, so I stood waiting for a few minutes until speaking up.

The atmosphere just seemed quite negative and unwelcoming which was a shame.

Also our hot food was placed on top of our cold food so by the time we opened the packet it was a bit of a mess, just found that a bit odd.

Food did taste quite nice, but by then the build up to eating had spoilt it.

Shop looks nice inside and out.

Overall not a good experience. May give them another try, perhaps it was a one off. But I’ve since heard the takeaway at another branch is much better, which is a shame when trying...

They missed part of our order and refused to take responsibility for it. When I finally got hold of them - I had to ring just eat and then 2 of their branches to find their phone number as it's not currently on their website - the man was incredibly rude and aggressive, refusing to admit they could have made a mistake. When I hung up in frustration (my food was getting cold) they rang back shortly after offering free food if I go into the restaurant myself. A bit pointless considering I ordered a takeaway. Delicious food but really let down by the service, especially since they're new and come highly recommended by friends in Tunbridge Wells. Won't be using the Tonbridge...
