Unfortunately we didn't enjoy our visit tonight. We've been to a lot of sushi restaurant around (including London, New York and New Jersey) We thought its our wedding anniversary we will try somewhere new and splurge, despite the distance (30 miles away) But this was the only sushi restaurant we ever been to that we've been rushing to eat. Different waiting staffs keep on coming to our table asking us if we were "finish" despite they can clearly see we still have food on our plate and literally chewing our food in our mouth. We find that very uncomfortable as diners. We ordered from starters to dessert. In our experienced in a sushi restaurant (not a takeaway!) you have to enjoy or try different selections of sushi or specialty they offer as some places they create their own kind. Sales wise, the more time the guests stays around the more food they will order so more money comes in. I never knew a sushi restaurant gives you a time limit to eat and rush you to get out. My husband went to the loo and one waiting staff placed our bill on our table. When my husband came back this waiting staff rush back ready to punch in the amount in the machine when my husband opened his wallet and took out cash, the waiting staff left laughing. We placed 80 quid on a tray our bill was 78.40 that included 10% service charged. Until we left our table and putting on my coat, there was not even a gesture of giving us our change back, not that we wanted it back (as my husband said not to worry as we will not coming back) at least the descency and wait for the customer to say "keep the change"
And one more thing Kiko, don't you find you are overcrowded with waiting staffs upstairs. Or are some of them trainees? Trained them...
Read moreIncorrect prices on website, everything had increased by between £0.5p-£4.00 per item.
Called to query and spoke to manager who initially took the order. They didn’t care and when I queried it they explained “we will update it later this week”. I continued to list off items they over charged me for so they coils have a list of the incorrect items on their menu and everything I said they seemed to think I was confused and at the end of the conversation they said “sorry for your confusion” once and they appeared to think it was my fault for querying it. It appears they can just charge whatever they like at the door and when you call for an explanation, there is a sarcastic apology and then after keeping them on the phone they change their response to “we will update that tonight”. So the response changed from a week ago to tonight. Would of been nice to have been offered a reimbursement for the false pricing or even an apology would of been nice. Now I waste my time with this review and getting annoyed at the lack of customer service here.
Negatives: False advertisement and bad customer service, noodles were pretty poor quality and so was the rice. Sushi was good but certainly not worth the price tag.
Only positive I have is when I walked in to collect it, the place and atmosphere looked nice and trendy.
I would of not left this review if the customer service was better or even if I had just received an apology, but all I received was a sarcastic apology from the manager saying I was confused.
I don’t understand how it is me that’s confused when they advertise one price but charge another….
First time I’ve been here and it will...
Read moreWe went for the Sushi! The fish was fresh and a good quality. Serving sizes are extremely generous. The service was attentive and friendly. Possibly a little rushed. The dining room is a bit noisy with horigotatsu seating. No traditional hot towels when you sit down. So, wash your hands before you sit down, the toilets are two flights down. There are limited traditional sushi choices and you cannot go off menu. Maybe if you sat at the sushi bar you could, but we sat upstairs. There was no tobiko, hokkigai or sweet ebi. However, they have a large selection of tuna, including otoro. The Unagi is served cold and the Saba was over vinegared in my opinion. The menu has a large assortment of rolls with cooked and “non-Japanese additions”. Beware of the black truffles, the restaurant is keen on them. Not a flavour I associate with sushi. The chefs sashimi platter was excellent. The Hamachi (My favourite) Melted in your mouth. The softshell crab Tamaki was delicious, even though it was missing the cucumber and carrots. We would have enjoyed more variety in the raw fish rolls with fresh veg. With all that being said, we walked away...
