Recently visited (25/08/24).Unfortunately to our disbelief there was only one person serving . This lovely Romanian Girl was extremely under alot of pressure dealing with a very busy lunch time serivce. Turned out that her manager was on a break and left her on her own . This was totally unexceptable. The only one member of staff had to cover both downstairs and upstairs . So when coming upstairs this ment downstairs was left unattended. This is a absoult NO on all grounds . On saftey grounds aswell as leaving the bar totally unattended. My friends and i decided to have drinks upstairs where by the the lovely female staff did come upstairs to take out food orders eventually. On a good note though. The Sunday roast was absoultly delicious 😋 😍 I actually thanked and shook the hands if the chefs who had to step in and serve us and the other customers who were seated upstairs .. It was such a shame really ,because the food was absoultly delicious 😋 but for such a busy bar and restaurant to only have one membernof staff serving during a very busy lunch time was very disappointing and very badly managed. Shame really, because the food was delicious and the ONE member of staff was so so nice and did her very very best. So the manager/ management need to have a serious look at thier operating system. And NOT too leave just one memeber of staff on thier own to cope with such pressure . Customers were actually leaving due to the long waiting times.. I hope this review is read by the manager/ management . Because if i were some health and safety inspector,? Then i am sure you would be facing some very tough...

Yuk! Tonight was easily the unfriendliest service I've had since I moved to Tunbridge Wells four years ago. I'd just had a lovely meal at another venue with two friends from South London and we wanted to go for a drink afterwards. I've never been to Framptons before so decided to go in. There was no warm or friendly reception. Yes the staff said the bare minimum to us to pass as polite, but there was a noticeable air of "authoritarianism" in their tone. A deadpan "sit over there lads" in a PCSO type tone. It was horrible. I even tried to make a bit of small talk to reassure them they can relax and that us 50 year old men were not a threat - but we got nothing in return. We left after ordering one round. My mate didn't even bother to finish his drink. I felt I had to apologise to my friends for bringing them to such a horrible environment. We joked about it afterwards. I'm hoping it was just those particular two Friday night staff but yeah - I can't see myself...
Read moreFramptons, located at The Pantiles, is a restaurant and bar offering a variety of light meals, beers, cognacs, spirits, and cocktails. The choice of music and the lively atmosphere often create an exciting and eclectic vibe, which explains the high foot traffic during certain hours. While the décor and furnishings could use an update as they appear somewhat worn, this doesn't detract from the overall charm of the bar. The spacing and furniture selection complement their service well, as well as the corner where they are situated perfect for people and weather watching. The prices at Framptons are typical of The Pantiles—slightly high but still affordable, with the ambiance justifying the cost. The only downside during my visit was an encounter with an attendant who was on a phone call when I arrived. He continued the call for more than four minutes before attending to me, which seemed unprofessional. Despite this, he was pleasant and we had a nice chat once he was off the phone. Overall, Framptons is an interesting spot with good service, albeit with a bit of room for improvement in staff behavior. I'll definitely give them...
