This is my favourite Indian eatery in the local area as it serves dosas and chaat (Indian Street food dishes) which are very moreish... All served to order and very reasonably priced... Wonderfully delicious menu on offer and things you must try are the dosas which are a thin batter-based pancake originating from South India, made from a fermented batter predominantly consisting of lentils and rice (usually the ingredients are rice and black gram, ground together in a fine, smooth batter with a dash of salt, then fermented), these are served plain or stuffed with fillings of vegetables and sauces to make a quick meal accompanied along with chutney by tradition and sambar... and also dahi puri, a type of chaat consisting of mini-puri shells (golgappa) stuffed with spiced mashed potato with sweet tamarind chutney poured into the shell on top of the stuffing, yoghurt is generously poured into the shell, and the finished product is garnished with sprinklings of crushed sev (small pieces of crunchy noodles made from chickpea flour...

Food was amazing, our waiter was too! Yes this is a cafe so maybe don't expect the full restaurant experience depending on your wants (at the moment, they are about to renovate, and i say this if you're after posh eloquent surroundings), but if you like amazing fresh and authentic food and service this is the place. I'm incredibly fussy and always disappointed by takeaways and restaurants in tunbridge wells (there are many great ones of course also!). We ate in here in the cafe (they do takeaways and we will absolutely be doing that in the future) and I have not had south Asian food this quality and flavourful at all in tunbridge wells, just great fresh food. I would put it in the dishoom level (obviously different as dishoom is bombay and this is south indian fusian, but personal and independent so depending on your preference, better:) thank you ...oh and where can you find dosas this good anywhere near tunbridge...

Visited Yatra after reading the positive review but had bad experience.

There was just one guy who did both cooking and taking orders which made us wait a long time even before provided us a seat and it continued throughout. Constantly serving the take away orders and annoyingly, the take away delivery guy was loud, a complete disregard for the dinners.

There was too much smoke from cooking and that made us cough many times and spoil the dining experience.

The Paani Puri we ordered came cold and not crunchy as the puri seems very old and with very little paani.

The biryani was another disaster with the taste not authentic. The meat was dry and again seems made a long time back. It was funny that they a gave papodam as a side with Biryani in same plate.

Overall, I felt cheated by the positive reviews or me being there at...

DELICIOUS!

My husband and I visited this evening for the first time and we were blown away by the food quality and price. We walked away over-full with a box of leftovers and felt it was such good value. We had a wide range of food, the dip with the poppadum-style dish was insanely good and the dosa was amazing. My husband had a veg handi which was delicious, the flavours were so rich and layered! I’ve only given a 3 for atmosphere as there weren’t many people in there, but I don’t understand why! Service was immaculate. We were checked on many times and given some recommendations on what to get. 100% will be back and bringing people. Thank you for a lovely evening Yantra

I love this little place . The food is full of beautiful very new flavours for me . I am not big fan of hot food but the guy is happy to adjust some of the dishes . Place itself doesn’t look that great for date night but if you are not bother about the interior and you are looking for excellent food this is your place to eat or grab yourself take away . 5 starts from me ! Ps : only managed to take one photo as we eat is so fast 😂
