This place is really lovely. I went to koko Thai last night, and me and my dad had a very nice time. It was relatively busy at first but quieted down as it got later. The atmosphere is very chilled, as they have jazz playing in the background, a very nice touch. The service was perfect, and they came to check on us plenty of times, only thing worth noting is it took a little while for the food to come and to get the waiters attention for the bill. However head chef M came out to see us at the end of the night, and was really pleasant and funny. He explained a little bit about the restaurant and how he makes the food authentic.

I got to try the Thai fish cakes and chicken tempura to start. The texture of the fish cakes are spongy and strange but taste very nice with the sweet chilli, and the chicken tempura was great. For main I had beef massaman curry, with sticky rice, mixed veg and rice noodles on the side. The beef massaman was amazing, the beef was well cooked, the sauce was rich and creamy, and the potatoes were so soft. Large chunks of carrot are in there too which don’t need to be in there however authentic they are. The rice noodles were very nice, almost like a dumbed down pad thai, and so was the...

I had such a lovely experience at KOKO Thai restaurant in the Hatfield heath, this is 15 minute drive from Bishops Stortford and is 100% worth a visit. I ordered the Ped Makarm and the duck was divine, fresh food from the grill with a sweet sauce, Pak Choi and cashew nuts, adored this dish. The dim sum chicken dumplings melt in the mouth with rich flavour. Thai is a mix between sweet and fragrant. Expect coconut in most curries and some that may offer a spicy kick. Me and my father also enjoyed a Pina Colada cocktail which was served fresh in a coconut shell. Mr M the head chef was very welcoming, this is a family run business, atmosphere was there with a buoyant vibe. This is however a small venue, I would book if you want a large table. The team also followed up on my request to arrange something for my fathers birthday, to my surprise they delivered a sweet dish with an added shot for good measure. Will be visiting again and would recommend, well priced and a lovely meal out for a short drive outside of town. Well priced and presentation and service overall very good. Thankyou KoKo for making us feel...

We stayed in the area overnight to make an early flight out of Stansted. We were happy to find somewhere to dine out that wasn’t pub food. A bit dubious that we’d get anything more than adequate “Asian” food, but we were amazed by Koko Thai.

I’ve travelled the world and this place is serving as authentic Thai food as you can find anywhere. All fresh, high-quality ingredients and all very reasonably priced.

It’s a family run business with “Chef M” at the helm. Lovely, friendly and quirky frontman with aspirations for a Michelin Star ⭐️ and a run at “Top Chef”!

It’s this motivation that keeps the quality high in all respects. And I have a feeling he’ll make it! Everything here is excellent. A real gem 💎 for the area but I wonder if the locals truly understand what they have here…? We wish we had it where we are. An absolutely phenomenal dining experience in...

Not sure where to start, dreadful from start to finish. Having ordered online and given a collection time, we then had to wait a further 30 minutes, which was extremely uncomfortable since there was no where to stand, where we weren't clearly in the way. This was apparent from the staff walking past us and exclaiming how busy they were, making us feel like an inconvenience. Eventually we left with our food. I cannot describe how inedible the congealed rice was, there was nothing that could be done with it except to dispose of it. The chicken in all the dishes was tough and coupled with the fact it turned out to be hardly warm, like the rice, were not paletable. I was o upset at the waste of my time and money, we drove back to Hatfield Heath to return it. They did not quibble with the refund but we shall not be returning any time soon.

Stopped here by chance and was absolutely delighted. Food and service were exceptional. Definitely the best panang curry I have had. The head chef is very welcoming and will cook to taste. Definitely make known your preference as my partners red curry was not as hot as he expected but my curry was perfect as I had asked for low spice. Starters were also very tasty. (picture attached). I actually was so excited about the main I had it eaten before remembering to take a picture. The food was well presented and service without fault. Really pleased and feel lucky to have stumbled upon koko Thai. If we lived closer would definitely go regularly!
