The cathedral to gluttony and cheap food that was the Boundary House has fallen. The new look Boundary House is a much tamer, boring, Green King with a cliché and boring pub menu. No more pages of exciting variety, the menu is a simple 2 page pub affair. Where you used to be able to buy a challenge meal with over 4000kcal for £15 and feed the whole family, you can now get a couple of skinny burgers in a bap with a meagre collection of fries for £11. Can the kids play in the playground dangerously close to the road? Nope not any more. It's all been removed so smokers can sit outside in the cold and watch cricket on the outdoor TV. If there is a positive to be said, the toilets are now amazing. Clean, well built, and no longer with a strange fog smelling of urine. They're the kind of loos that I wouldn't mind popping into on my way past. However, if you sit in the loos for too long hiding from your bored children while you write a review on Google, you will find that the energy saving motion detector will turn the lights off on you, and you will have to complete your trip using your phone's torch. I'll probably visit again as it's an easy to get to lunchtime pub, but I don't think I'll ever be as excited to visit as much as I was the old Boundary House, where I could get 4 large burgers in a bap for £10 on a Friday.

I have been wanting to try the Flaming Grill challenge burger for a while... Interior ⭐️⭐️⭐️ For a branded pub it did impress me a little. It was almost like being in a converted barn. Service ⭐️ ⭐️ The guy behind the bar was super u welcoming, didn't seem at all interested in working there. When I ordered he simply said that's not availible to all my order without any apology or explanation. When I went back to place the order again the other guy (think manager) at least explained the situation about supply chains. The AA discount didn't work on the other offers in fact it added cost by removing the "2 for" offer. I had to point that out to them otherwise I would have paid it. Overall super disappointed in the team here. Food ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ After half the menu was unavailable, so no challenge burger for me! We settled on fish and chips and hunters chicken. Both were okay, filled a hole etc but the chips were a bit chewy Price ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 2 meals for like £10. Its a cheap eat! Overall ⭐️⭐️⭐️

We visited here for the weekday flaming grill. First impression is that it's a local pub and the interior is not up to date (probably to do with the low lighting?). A few tables were left with food/dishes which weren't cleaned after the customers left. Lots of drinks were not available during our visit, because some machines were out of order. There were only 2 waitresses behind the bar, and they were struggling taking the order of drinks/foods. It took nearly 15 mins to place the order. The speed of food served is good. The quality of the steaks were not great, but you pay for what you get -£10.99. The taste of sharing platters is also average.

We visited Boundary House on Sunday 12th September at around 1500hrs for a late lunch. Upon arriving for our reservation my family and I were seated in the bar area (with the big bar stools and high tables) not ideal at all for two toddlers and a six month old in a pram. When we eventually figured out how to logistically sort everyone out we were then relocated to the proper dining area whilst being told “sorry I put you on the wrong table.” We got over that pretty quickly and then decided to order our food.

The pub wasn’t heaving as there was plenty of empty tables but it wasn’t quiet either. Probably an average Sunday. We ordered our starters and mains and then began the wait…

We waited 1 and a half hours for our starters to arrive. No update from the waiting staff who seemed to be standing about not doing much. They did all seem rather lackadaisical considering the kitchen staff were clearly maxed out. Not once did they offer a complementary drink whilst we waited or anything like that. No one even told us we’d be waiting that long. For starters to come out, 1 and a half hours seems a bit much. Especially when you’re trying to keep two toddlers entertained.

My wife had to make an adjustment to her dish. She went for the hunters chicken which I believes comes served on a bed of fried onions and a skillet. We asked for the meal to be served on a plate rather than a skillet and no onions. That was completely ignored. So we had to fix that ourselves.

This would have been a strong four * review had you given us updates or something for waiting so long, as the food was incredible! Very tasty indeed. However, your waiting staff unfortunately looked a bit lost and your kitchen is clearly...

Lovely pub and some wonderful staff , however I came in contact with a staff slim blonde hair from the time I got there she was giving attitude , I play no mind I said it's busy, however she and a guy came out with our food trying to explain to her 106 was a wrong table it's 101 she kept on paying us no attention, the guy listen and brought the food I said firmly it's our table , immediately she mumble I ask what did you say , she was like don't take it out on us what she's speaking about I don't know , after that she went on each table telling customers bad things about me and my family, she wasn't stopping , family came to sit close to us and she started lying telling them don't make noise etc we don't like it immediately responded to family and said there is no issue you can laugh and enjoy yourself it's a bar.

They immediately said they know her and that's the usual. I think they just felt bad for us but I honestly think it's Because we were black, I went back to get some napkins and she was still lying to one of her staff member thick short guy and he refused to attend to me , however there are other wonderful staff there and I got the napkins from him and explain what they did he even point out he made the table correction because he was the same staff took...
