Restaurant 56 — Restaurant in Vale of White Horse

We arrived at Sudbury House reception and were shown through to the restaurant drawing room for canopies and our coats were taken whilst we choose from the menu. We had rung ahead regarding our dietary requirements (gluten/nuts) and the chef was very accommodating by changing a few dishes to meet our needs. We were asked if we were there for an occasion? I said it was for my birthday. We were shown through to the dining room and enjoyed seven courses of carefully selected and exquisitely presented food. Each course was served by the waiters who then explained the ingredients and the idea behind the dishes. Whilst we were waiting for the bill, we noticed the card on the table was hand written, the team had all signed to wish me a happy birthday, it made the night and I was so grateful. Fine dining at it's best, beautiful setting for a fabulous restaurant. We tried the Prime tasting menu and the food was exquisite, has to be awarded a Michelin star anytime soon. The professionalism of all the staff contribute to an all round amazing dining experience.
