A strange very basic dining experience with excellent food.
When we entered the restaurant it was literally empty so we were the only ones in it. It was without atmosphere and clearly the decor was very tired. In fact the walls can only be described as “grubby”. The menus are basic pieces of laminated paper and some of the paperwork still referred to the previous restaurant “Star of India”
The staff consisted of just 2 young women who appeared to be doing everything, from the order taking, the cooking and serving. If the restaurant ever gets busy they will struggle to cope
The food could not be faulted, it genuinley was like eating home cooked Indian food, and all at a very reasonable price.
In short, this restaurant has changed hands but it is not yet ready to claim itself as a new restaurant. It needs a good refurbishment, more staff, more attention to detail and then it would be well worth a visit. Not yet somewhere to go if you want a relaxing meal, however, if you purely just want good food this would be...

But they were very keen and conscientious, eager to please. I started with onion bhaji, followed by lamb jalfrezi. The main was very well prepared and tasty. I only gave 4 stars because I found the bhaji to have too much batter and not enough onion. However, the manager was very grateful for me pointing this out to him and he obviously took note. The decor is a let-down if you're looking for luxurious surroundings but, given the cheapness, I can live with that. I will certainly be back and I hope they do well. It's BYO, by the way, but they sell...
Read moreRead reviews before ordering. Unfortunately I didn’t. Food arrived late. Phone number on just eat said unrecognisable so couldn’t contact the restaurant for an update. Food arrived cold and I had to warm it in the microwave (not a good start) and the restaurant is only a 1 minute driving distance so shouldn’t be an issue (see picture) Ordered creamy masala but what arrived didn’t look creamy and was swimming in oil. Even a good stir under heat didn’t resolve this. (Pictured) Chips looked and tasted as though they’d been refried. Garlic naan and onion bhajis were nice once warmed and my child said the wrap and cheesy chips were ok though. Would I order or dine in again ?...
