Papa Johns Pizza — Restaurant in Wakefield

This was the first time I have ordered pizza from this Papa Johns, and it didn't dissapoint. The pizza was tasty, well made and seemed to be good quality. The sides I ordered is a different story. They were edible and tasted ok, but thats about as far as it went with them. They were just bland and didn't have much going for them. This might be just a Papa Johns issue in general however, as this was my first time ordering sides from them.

Staff seemed friendly and nice. There was one that seemed to be confused by us picking up food however, as he handed us our food and then proceeded to run out to our car asking if we had paid or not, even though the order was ordered online and paid for then. This left us a bit confused.

Prices are normal Papa Johns prices - expensive. If you're looking for a pizza and a side, you're better off going to a local takeaway instead of a chain one like this. However, if you're buying a few pizzas, there is plenty of deals that reduce the price by a lot which makes it a bit more worth.

I am not a regular pizza eater but when I do order one, I get it from a local pizza takeaway in Castleford Prima Pizza, which I have been going to since it opened in 1986 and worked at when it first opened. I got an email from Papa Johns having used you in the past which offered a large pizza for £12. I clicked on the link and ordered it via PayPal. After the payment went through, I noticed you did not charge me the price in my offer email but one £2 higher. After my pizza was delivered by a very nice delivery person it all went downhill. The topping was sparse and under cooked and the pizza base was tasteless it was like eating carboard. In fact, I did look under the pizza to see if some paper was stuck to the base of the pizza and it was not. How can any well-made pizza be produced with no herbs or seasoning. If the herbs and seasoning are in you tomato base then I am afraid the recipe needs looking at because the overall taste of the pizza was negative. This is the best pizza place in Castleford. The staff are so polite and friendly, especially the young man making the pizzas and serving at the shop front - he's a credit to himself and a great advert for Papa John's. The pizzas are consistently great, flavoursome and cooked perfectly. I usually pick up an order but their delivery drivers are great as well.
