Went here with 3 work colleagues/friends. This was the first time I had visited. The menu surprised me how 'fancy' it was for a garden centre cafe, but I liked the look of the options available even if some may struggle to find simple favourites. 4 meals were ordered- satay chips, ayup cheddar sandwich, avocado bloom, and beef brisket Toasty. All were nice, especially the satay chips, which was said to be delicious. Unfortunately the beef brisket toasty was not nice at all! Im not typically a fussy eater, but this actually made me feel quite nauseous. The toasty was greasy, the beef was grey and tough, and the combination of that mixed with too much pickled fennel it did not work! When the waitress (finally) came over after about 1 hour with the food to take our plates, I told her I wasn't happy. She replied saying she could see I didn't enjoy it and said I wouldn't be charged (great) we then ordered desserts. Fruit scones and strawberry cheesecake. The cheesecake was ok but did have a grainy texture to the cream cheese part. The scones i was told were nice but that the cream was tasteless and warm, implying it had been out of the fridge too long (it was a very warm day)

I have given 4* overall as some of the food was very tasty and everything was very well presented. Also there was no argument or issue when discussing the horrible beef 'brisket' sandwich. I would go again and hope i recieve something very tasty like my friends did on...

This WAS absolutely mine and my wife’s favourite place to take my mum for a weekend lunch and look around the garden centre. We were very surprised to see the place had been revamped with amazing decor and lots more space….jackpot, more space and great food. Unfortunately not! The menu has been replaced with over fancy, overpriced food with minimal options for people like my mum who has a very basic palette and my wife who is forced to eat a Gluten free diet. The menu stated GF so we asked for a Bacon & sausage sandwich for my wife, there was very little for my mum to chose, so we asked if they could just do a simple cheese on toast, which was confirmed could be done. After an hours wait (yes an hour) my wife received what was obviously cheap supermarket GF bread that had been defrosted with no sausage with a sorry the sausage is not GF, so we just left it out, no option to change. Then my mum received for her simple cheese on toast a cheese toastie with a side overcooked chips. Not what she ordered at all, with another sorry saying they couldn’t fulfill her order (she had a bag of crisps from the garden centre shop). There needs to be more options for simple food, the prices are a little over the top and they absolutely need more staff for the amount of tables they are catering for. We will absolutely NOT be going...

Absolutely Fantastic Lunch Experience at The Bloom & Brew!

I recently stopped by The Bloom & Brew on Pontefract Road in Wakefield for lunch, and I can’t praise it enough! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and a beautifully inviting atmosphere. The decor is charming and cozy – a perfect mix of modern style and rustic charm, with thoughtful floral touches that really live up to the café’s name.

The lunch menu was packed with fresh, vibrant options, and everything looked so tempting it was hard to choose. I ended up going with pancakes and fruit, and it was absolutely delicious – beautifully presented, full of flavour, and clearly made with care and high-quality ingredients.

The service was top-notch – friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. It’s clear that the team here cares about both the food and the customer experience. The coffee was also a standout – rich, smooth, and the perfect midday pick-me-up.

Whether you're meeting a friend, grabbing a solo lunch, or just looking for a relaxing spot with great food and lovely vibes, The Bloom & Brew is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be back – this place is a real gem...

Popped in for a girls lunch day and we were so happy we did. The restaurant is in a garden centre and nestled in the corner, it is a fairly big restaurant with plenty of seating but it does get very busy so book if you can. The menu has lots to choose from and it there good prices, we decided to share some dishes to try a few things and the food was absolutely amazing. For drinks I ordered a vanilla macha and sis and mum ordered tea. For food I ordered the truffle creamed mushroom and my sister ordered the Ruben, they didn't disappoint. The food didn't take long to come and it was beautifully presented and a good sized portion we shared our dishes and they tasted absolutely delicious, so flavoursome and tasty. We decided to treat ourselves and ordered the rhubarb pancakes to share and they tasted sublime too. The staff were so welcoming especially our server Rachel so attentive and welcoming the overall experience was amazing and we will be definitely going there again and highly recommend this restaurant too anyone who get the chance to visit.
