My wife and I had starters and mains Starters was dough balls will a strange garlic butter/slime not a good taste all together BBQ chicken wings that were clearly southern fried chicken wings with a coating of BBQ sauce on them the third starter was supposed to be garlic bread and cheese it was a small pizza with no garlic overcooked to the point it was all crispy like a crisp and a sprinkle of cheese I had pepperoni pizza with apparently loads of pepperoni as it says on the menu with extra cheese and stuffed crust. There was hardly any pepperoni on the pizza no extra cheese and the cheese in the stuffed crust was like a cream cheese not tasty at all My wife got double cheeseburger with bacon and chips and coleslaw the coleslaw was in a small pot you would get sauce in was gone in two bites chips ok there chips the double cheeseburger looked like and reminded me of icelands double cheeseburger with cheese in middle and precooked bacon over go else where Had to wait for one drink for over ten minutes when the place was dead definitely should been a sign but don’t judge a book by cover as they say Last we was not near the windows but the curtains had been removed from all windows so we was cooking in the sun coming through whilst not good I could have got a tan Also a automatic tip was applied🤔🤔🤔

This was our first visit to the Prince William for a wedding anniversary lunch. We had also never been to this chain before, but the lady at the bar was so helpful and friendly. We ordered a trio of starters, and two of their house soft drinks (which were especially nice) along with our mains. Prices were very reasonable all round. Our starters arrived in good time and were delicious: pizza rolls, chicken poppers and cheesy garlic flatbread. We quickly polished them off, and we had been advised to let the staff know we had finished so they could start our mains, so we did while ordering more drinks. Our mains also arrived quickly (a good system) - a pizza and carvery calzone. I was unable to finish my pizza, but the staff kindly offered to box the leftovers before I had chance to ask. We left feeling very full and satisfied. The pub has a very comfortable atmosphere and the food is very good, while the staff were brilliant with us. Will definitely be visiting again!

1st visit here. Had Sunday lunch with my wife for mother's day last Sunday. The food was unbelievably good. I had the "works" carvery. I had turkey and roast beef and the portions of meat covered half of my plate. My wife had the normal size carvery. Both the beef and the turkey just melted in your mouth and were so juicy and tasty. There was a huge selection of veg and same again all cooked to perfection. We had a sharing profiterole desert....yummy. We were welcomed on arrival and escorted straight to our table. A special mention for Ruby who was very attentative and did a great job looking after us. Also a special mention to Lee the chef for the high quality food. Drinks were nice, the atmosphere was nice and the restaurant was very inviting, my type of venue. We will be returning real soon and we will be regulars from now on. Thanks for a great experience.

We went on Saturday intending to have a carvery and a drink each for a party of four, having ordered just before 3pm we were not told of any issues, just given our carvery ticket and told we can go up when ready. Our order came to about £35 for one normal and three small carveries with drinks.

When we went to go get our carvery, they had started taking away some of the food, and there were no potatoes of any form such as mash or roast potatoes available. We stood there for several minutes thinking they would be bringing out more food. At this point the chef came up to us and told us they would not be bringing more food out for another 90 minutes and that we should have been advised when ordering.

The problem is that we were not advised about this when ordering, else we would have went elsewhere that did serve food or considered ordering something else on the menu. So we wasted the price of 4 carveries and drinks and then had to have a carvery, without potatoes, with next to no gravy, with little veg and the slither ends of meat.

We were not given an apology verbally in any respect, we were offered a "bottomless" ice cream for free, we took this although half our party is lactose intolerant anyway, but even then using the ice cream machine it seemed to run out! Couldn't make it up if you tried...

I put in a complaint online to be told basically that the lunch session was busy and that they are sorry, but that is it (given that the place was empty I doubt that). They seem to think it's totally okay to drive a car without seats that's limited to 20mph, because that's only what I can attest the carvery experience for us to having been like.

Seems to be several reviews with similar comments, poor copy/paste responses from the restaurant blaming technical glitches and busy periods. This place just isn't going to last if their attitude is like this. No wonder it seemed absolutely dead inside when we went.

Don't go here, carry on and go to the Toby Carvery instead. Feel absolutely swindled by having gone here.

EDIT: As you can see from the poor response below where they still assert that it is somehow MY problem that they did not advise the limited range of carvery items, we were not given the option to change our order in any respect and were not aware that we could have done this, or are they insinuating we call the carvery a sunken cost and order more food at full price because that is not clear? We ordered at 2:50PM and if food was not being replenished until 4:30PM we should have been advised when ordering, as a resolution we should have been given the option of a full refund for the items so that we could have taken our custom elsewhere. Quite frankly we will never be dining here again and I'll make sure people I know are aware of this...

Can only describe our visit as bizarre,

I had previously visited on a weekday in June for my father-in-laws birthday, there were only us and maybe 2 or 3 other groups in the restaurant, despite this we waited almost an hour for our starters. When we asked the bar they explained how our ticket had been lost behind the till. We did accept a free dessert as an apology but all aspects of the service just felt slack. We were also stood waiting for a member of staff at the carvery for a lengthy period of time. Despite this, we decided to visit again and give it another chance as we did enjoy the food.

Unfortunately our second visit did not restore any faith. We were sat close to the bar and a glass was smashed by a member of staff right behind my two year old nephew and my 6 week old baby (which I can appreciate was an accident) but bizarrely, the staff member then stood and allowed a young girl (who must have been no older than twelve or thirteen) to sweep up this glass behind us!? A short while after, another member of staff who seemed to have some more sense about them noticed and then took over. I feel this young girl may have been some relation to a member of staff, but we were so taken back especially when a manager went to prioritise serving front of house as opposed to dealing with the chaos going on beside us. After this, the member of staff who had smashed the glass then served our table and pulled a dessert away from my 2 year old nephew and told him ‘no’ as they were serving. The food again was fine but there seemed a lot less option on the carvery than previous, despite it being a Sunday.

It is very unlikely I would ever visit again now and personally would not recommend going off my own experience/s . We were already apprehensive but the whole atmosphere was just very strange and it did not make for a pleasant experience. There are clearly managerial issues and as a whole we found the service inattentive, looking at other feedback were not the only...

They were out of strawberry syrup for the mocktails that we ordered and it took them at least 15 minutes to tell us and ask what we would like instead. Once we'd sorted that, we had to wait half a hour for them to bring them out. The lager and the pineapple juice that were ordered at the same time came out as soon as they were ordered. We ordered on the app and didn't know if we needed a paper slip for the carvery (we did). We didn't get the slips until one of our party went and picked them up from the bar. We had waited around 35-40 minutes at that point. I had ordered a kids carvery but when it went through, it was put through as an adults meal, despite me clicking on the kids menu and then kids carvery on the app. I don't know if it glitched out or what happened. The food was quite nice and the majority of the staff members were friendly. It was tea time rush so they were busy, which we understand, but it would have been better to get all the drinks at the same time, At one point before we got the mocktails, one staff member was just stood about at the bar, not really doing anything. We thought she was waiting for the drinks maybe but it was ages til we got them. She wasn't waiting on anything. We had a baby with us who wanted food but as we didn't get the carvery slips for quite some time, she got fussy and irritable. The highchair was grubby and needed cleaning, which we...
