Visited here on a Saturday night for my birthday. It was just the 2 of us and we were going to have a romantic dinner together. Unfortunately it didn't feel that way.

The tables are heavily seated next to each other in a galley sort of way. Everyone on other tables were talking very loudly over each other, approximately 10 tables with 2-4 people on each table.

We were initially asked to sit at the front as our table wasn't ready and look at the drinks menu. Shortly afterwards we were taken to our table and the waitress left, having not taking our drinks order. About 15 minutes later she came to take our order, stating that the beef short ribs and belly pork was off the menu. We ordered drinks and a main course. Steak each, with sauce and a side of onion rings. We asked for rare, upon arrival it was cooked med-well done - very disappointing! We were unable to mention this to a waitress as we didn't see one again during our meal. We had no further offers of drinks.

We were quite disappointed with the evening in what is meant to be a 'high end' restaurant. To spend nearly £80 on 2 drinks and 2 mains is a bit pricey.

Unfortunately I will not be recommending...

We were a party of 15 with the table booked 3 months in advance, orders taken and deposits given in advance also. This made no difference though as we were sat waiting a good 2 hours for our food, and there was not enough tables to sit our party fully with one person having to sit on the end with little to no room. The servers themselves we couldn't fault, they were doing their best with the resources they had. We appreciated that this is a busy time of year, but the management were not interested in our poor experience, offered no kind of assistance, money off, or apology at all. The opposite infact. Once complaints were made, it was met with dismissal, looks up and down and finally, being banned from going to the owners other bars in Ammanford. Time was taken to contact the door men not to let us in to the cottage or No 1 wind street. If only the same effort and attention to detail was made with our booking at this restaurant, I'm sure there would have been no problem. I'd be interested to know what your idea of good customer service is, because...

We went last night and had the chicken supreme and the belly pork. Portions were tiny, looked more like a starter than a main. My veg (asparagus) was way under cooked as was my potato. My chicken was ok but the skin was rubbery, if you're going to serve skin make sure it's crispy. My partners belly pork was good but could have done with a bit more cooking as a lot of the fat hadn't rendered down. Her veg was also hard but her mashed potato was good and the rubbarb sauce was very nice. Due to the small portions we were forced to have a dessert which is something we very rarely do. I wish we hadn't bothered! My rubbarb was so hard I couldn't cut it and the sponge served with it was almost as bad. My partners sticky toffee pudding had spent a little too long in the microwave and was not far from a biscuit! This should have been served with cream but ice-cream had been substituted. At almost £9 each for a dessert you'd expect something a bit better than that. All in all, a waste of £70. We will not be going back. On a positive note, our waiter was...

Bendigedig! Bravo ! Bellisimo. Extra touches , lovely clean venue . Excellent, first class service from young staff. Da iawn. Very tasty and melt in your mouth beef and lamb. Tasty veg . If there was a criticism: and totally only my palette would be the gravy being too salty for my taste buds and overpowered the flavour of the delicious vegetables . However,my dad and partner would disagree lol 😆 . dad thought the rosties needed crisping more and slightly hard but wonderful flavour to the tatties. Prawns to start for me and my Partner's soup delicious too . No room for dessert as so much tasty meat and Yorkshire pudding. Took a box of veg home .waste not . " Lovely meal, nice place ,good staff, lovely young lad " some of the comments going home . Diolch yn fawr am croeso cynnes am ein ymeliad cyntaf. Byddwn ni'n dod nol yn y dyfodol achos mae'r blas yn blasus iawn . Parking across the road and walk through the lane and Blas across the road .

Really wanted the food to be to a good standard for the price £42 for the main My fillet steak was overcooked, and the prawns were a little anemic looking and not cleaned (intestinal tract). Such little errors may mean they do not have a qualified chef in the kitchen. The food is not typical of the price charged.. I paid £56 for my main meal and a glass of wine. I've had better food in a pub chain. However, the atmosphere was great, and the waiter service was excellent. Tipped 10% accordingly. The menu is very overpriced for the value of the food in general. Shame! 😔

☕ Local Love: Why Blas Is Ammanford’s Best Brunch Spot 🥑 Living in Ammanford, Blas is always my go-to. It’s a proper local staple and the brunch here? Gorgeous. Every. Time. 🍳 I had the Eggs Florentine with silky Hollandaise sauce – rich, velvety, and totally hit the spot. 🍅 The Avocado on Toast with perfectly poached eggs and juicy vine tomatoes was just as dreamy – fresh, vibrant, and beautifully balanced. 🌟 Stunning food as always! If you’re in or around Ammanford and haven’t tried Blas yet… what are you doing? 👀 @blas.sa18
