Very nice pub. Food was very nice. Good quality pub food. Portions are very generous therefore fairly priced. We ordered nachos for two as a starter which were more like nachos for four as the portion was very big for a starter. However very nice and tasty. Welsh sirloin was very good quality and cooked as requested. Delicious. The portion with chips was very generous as well. We also ordered the today's special which was minted lamb. The lamb was to die for and came with roasted potatoes, salad and boiled veg. Desserts was very rich as we ordered vanilla and strawberry cheesecake which was delicious and again at very generous size. Overall very nice place for a pub food at very good quality and reasonably priced. You will definitely not go home hungry;) additionaly the staff are very friendly and attentive. Very pleasant atmosphere. We will surely be...

Went last year just after moving to the area we had myself Aberdeen Angus burger with chicken which was great first time around. My partner the pie and chips also great first time around. However this time omg what has happened to this place we had the side bread and olives as a starter, the part baked singular tiny roll had been microwaved not baked. We asked for another again white and microwaved, didn't fare well for the mains. The burger was now a cheap rubberised burger the chicken breast was in a soggy batter? No cheese or gherkin etc like before I couldn't eat it. The pie was in a weird watery couldn't eat can't call it gravy. Chips were greasy and brown. The bar woman when we asked for another drink said we'd have to wait I'm busy??? We really will not be returning. We now know why the place is empty compared to how it was end...

Went for Sunday lunch today and I like to leave an honest review ...the staff are really friendly and welcoming..the service was excellent but the food was such a disappointment we expected better if I'm honest ...it was overpriced and overcooked _£15 for a Sunday lunch is ok if it's worth it the roast potatoes were overcooked or overheated more like ..the Yorkshire pudding were black ..the beef was way too tough and bland ...gravy was bisto gravy and way too watery the veg was ok but came in a very small dish half the size of a gravy boat for 2 people ..I had 1 small skinned potato but a lot of roasties that i paid extra for ...it's a shame cos its a lovely homely place and the staff are exceptionally good but they need a new cook ..so unexpected and...

Food was absolutely amazing, better than all the restaurants I've been to so far and the first I've thought that deserves 5*. I had the 10oz steak which was better than my late father's which most definitely is saying something so please give my commendations to the cheff and cooks. I am extremely impressed (Below is the sticky toffee pudding) The staff are so kind and attentive it really made the experience worthwhile and made me feel as if I were a local who comes here often. The atmosphere was homely with an amazing familial sense. The staff all work amazing together and they really set the atmosphere for everything. To conclude, I am impressed and most definitely will be coming here again.

Well! What a treat this place is. Friendly, helpful staff and the food is just 👌 the gammon and chips with egg AND pineapple was the best I've had. (And huge!) We were passing through from skenfrith to laugharne and took a minor detour on the basis of the other Google reviews - it was packed so obviously rightly popular. Proper old fashioned local boozer. Can't fault it on the basis.

Lunch with my Mam...both chose flatbread with curry.,I chose jalfrezi, mam had korma...rice and chips layered between bread and curry.... absolutely spot on...BUT there were salad leaves on the flatbread...I don't like salad in anyway shape or form..so I pulled them out and carried on enjoying the lovely food.... didn't have room for pudding....enough said...staff are lovely
