Struggled to find a country pub open for food outside stand 12-2 & 6-9pm. Looking for pub serving at 3.30pm. Stumbled across beaufort Arms, kittle, near Swansea. Dropped in for very late lunch. Restaurant was third full. Ordered 2x gammon and a spice meat pizza. Arrived in 10-15 mins. Gammon was thick piece served with crispy thick chips. Pizza was homemade and flavoursome. Washed down with 2x coke and pint of Stowford press. Came to £39. By the time we left we were only ones in the upper restaurant. All left happy

The pub was busy but not packed. However, they were clearly understaffed as the drinks took quite a time to arrive. The food was good, but it did seems overdone.

The adults main meals we had were lovely and the puddings were delicious, however the service was awful. 3 out of the 4 adult meals we chose from the menu were unavailable so we had to choose something else, we then waited a very long time for our food to arrive. My steak came out first and the other adult meals followed, followed last of all by the kids meals with one taking much longer so my son was upset thinking he had been forgotten. By the time the kids meals came out my steak was cold and I never did get my pepper sauce. The kids chicken nuggets were a little over cooked and children’s tomato pasta was spicy, although it wasn’t meant to be. We were given a round of free drinks and an apology for the amount of time it took but then it took a very long time for our desserts to come! They finally arrived at 9.30, just as we gave up and were leaving, the table was booked for 7!. Our young kids were tired and bored and I had also been told off for my kids standing on the stone windowsill to look out of the window - the only small entertainment they had (colouring sheets would have been nice). One pudding was forgotten and we had to ask for it again. We were given our puddings for free, a free round of drinks and 50% off our meal but it was a very stressful experience with extremely poor service and they didn’t even seem very busy. Staff were around but were drying cutlery and working the bar and ignoring our table completely. Shame the experience was so bad as the adults meals were very good and I am sure on a good day it would have been a very different story but we won’t be...

Been there a few times and enjoyed but this evening... what can I say? Half arsed is at best. Food-average but the service was way below that. Being left unattended, told double booked, wrong meal arriving, meal not arriving on time, forgotten to be given cutlery, told my daughter's ice cream would take a long while because they're busy... even though other tables being served in the meantime... maybe they were actually making the ice cream? Mash potato must have been sat on the plate a day or so. The beef pie may as well have been a vegetarian pie. First time we've gone out in months and £80 wasted which I can ill afford. Came away feeling totally ripped off and not the treat my family deserved...from what i witnessed we weren't the only ones receiving terrible service. Can't blame covid... if you can't handle it then don't open your doors. Won't be going back. Nice pint though that's why the extra star. ...

Thanks for the reply to my feedback. Not all issues addressed which is fine...My daughters meal coming late was just one. I think maybe doing table service and ordering on app didn't help...I just ordered face to face. Ive seen it busier there...I wasn't after free food or anything. Maybe we'll take you up on the offer. For someone that can't afford to eat out that often and working away, it should've been a different experience for me and my family... that's all. Prawn cocktail on a warm plate is a new one on me too. The katsu chicken starter was lovely. Thanks for taking...

Had a fabulous lunch at the Cockett Inn Cockett Swansea on Tuesday 25th August, not been there before but was totally surprised by how the pub (owned by Brains Brewery)has been brilliantly refurbished.I went with my husband and disabled granddaughter who is in a wheelchair.Although there was one step into the dining area,it posed no problem. We were met by a lovely young lady called Lorna who was fast friendly and efficient. We had for lunch two beef and ale pies with peas and chips and jugs of gravy, and one sausage mash peas and gravy.Did not have to wait very long for our meal and when it arrived it was hot and plenty of it.Have to say that we were delighted with our meal and value, two for £10 and the third meal was full price prob about £6.99 can't remember exactly. The pint of Fosters was only £2 and you could have Brains beer for £2.I asked the waitress if there was a disabled toilet and to my amazement there was and 5 star for cleanliness and size of toilet to get wheelchair in.We filled in a questionnaire with e.mail address and low and behold when we arrived home we had been sent a voucher to have a free drink on Brains Brewery on our next visit. You can't get better than that.Well I know now where to get good meals, good value and good service, with great surroundings. Well done to Cockett Inn.Been telling family and friends about you.Thank you Lorna and...
