Called today with my 103yr old aunt for a coffee and cake. My aunt fancied the lemon tart but when I ordered it in welsh i. e " un deisen lemon plîs" I was very rudley told by the MANAGER that she didn't speak welsh, not " sorry, I don't speak welsh", just " I don't speak welsh "!! How can anyone be employed in a coffee shop in Wales and not be intelligent enough to know that " un" means " one" , lemon is pretty self explanatory...or so you would have thought , and as I was pointing at the cake " teisen" should have been pretty obvious too! She was extremely rude throughout the order and not even saying thank you after I handed over my payment, she obviously doesn't realise who actually pays her wages. I tried contacting Cymdeithas yr Iaith Gymraeg to complain but realised they were closed due to the bank holiday...I shall be getting in touch with them next...
