Costa — Restaurant in Wales

Not a bad setup and plenty of parking for a dine in, it being situated in the main retail park car park.

Unfortunately my first dine in experience found cleanliness somewhat lacking (to say the least). Floors clearly unswept for what looked as if could have been all day (my visit mid afternoon) - unless there had been some sort of raucous party just before my arrival - and tables seemingly not wiped after eventual clearing. With less than 50% of tables occupied it was plain to see that multiple customers had been and gone without any table clearing let alone cleaning.

Coffee as expected from Costa; pretty good, so no complaints there (actually hotter than normal which some may not like but for me it's a good thing as the drink lasts longer).

So just three stars from me for now, but perhaps it was just unfortunate timing... will review after my next visit (might be a while tho...).

Update... A little better on further visits. Staff could do with a but more oomph, but it's clearly not vocational for them so hey... we were all young once ;) Adding a star, because they're better than a three now, and I enjoyed my "Fully...

I attended the drive thru in barry with my partner. I spent almost 10 pounds on drinks, which I wasn't happy with. The vanilla latte was made by the new area manager, and I believe his name is Steve. The coffee tasted burnt and was completely undrinkable. Jeanette kindly made me a fresh coffee, which was perfect. Thank you, Jeanette! I was told that Anton had been bad mouthing myself and my partner saying something on the lines of if another bad review is left about him he would have something to say to us both. Im sorry Costa. I spend between 10 and 30 pounds a day in your establishment, and to have this kind of treatment from the supposed store manager and area manager is disgusting. I will not allow them to make my drinks, . Shay, Morgan, Luke, Seren, Jeanette, Lewis, and phoebe are all fantastic members of the Costa team. They go above and beyond for us, and I can't thank them enough. If I could promote them or give them all a payrise, then I would. If I could have given a 0 star review I would have, I was served by a gentleman called Anton he made our drinks which we asked for large but they were only half full so I asked for them to be topped up, after a lot of huffing and puffing and being told that’s how they are made even though we’ve been coming here for 2 years and they’ve always been full he procided to top them up with water no extra coffee, he then stirred my black Americano with the same stirrer that he’d used for another drink but as I have a milk allergy I had to ask him to to make me a fresh one to which I had the reply “I didn’t put milk in I only stirred it”!! He made another which was pretty much luke warm water no taste of coffee at all! While I was waiting he made someone else’s drink with normal milk when he asked for oat milk, the gentleman explained that he asked for oat he was also huffed at and made to feel very uncomfortable!
