Here we go again... 😏
I thought I would kick off the new year with a bang! 💥
I've noticed quite a few new restaurants pop up in Barry over the last few months and one in particular caught my eye very quickly.
📍 @the_thai_town_restaurant
Barry has been crying out for a new Thai Restaurant ever since Siam Street food left us and this folks is the new place to be, they've only been open just over a month and I'm just gonna come out and say it, this I think is gonna become one of my favorite places to eat in Barry 👏
➡️ Today's Menu:
🍗 Gai Satay (Chicken Satay)
Tender grilled chicken skewers marinated in a blend of turmeric and coconut milk. Served with a flavourful peanut sauce.
🧆 Laab Thod (Fried Spicy Meat Ball Salad)
This Thai meat ball recipe is a family favourite. It's not your regular meat ball. These are little fried nuggets of goodness filled with beef and onion, lemongrass, galangal, lime leaves and Thai fresh herbs.
🌶️ Gaeng Panang Gai
Red curry with chicken with egg fried rice.
🍜 Khao Pad GAI Gai
Fried rice with chicken
🍽️ Review:
What a way to kick off the new year, this place is absolutely incredible!
Beautifully decorated, very warm and cozy and all of the staff are super friendly too!
For this visit we went as a group of 4 and needless to say we all loved our meals, every dish was just stacked with flavor. The Chicken Satay was cooked perfectly, very juicy and flavorsome.
The Laab Thod was ridiculously good, now as many of you will know I'm not exactly one for a salad, if all salads tasted this good well I'd be on my way to a six pack by now! 😅
In terms of the mains the Chicken Pad Thai was delicious, very nice noodles and the Chicken Panang was unreal. So much flavor it was insane, I honestly couldn't get enough of it, it complimented with the egg fried rice perfectly!
Trust me when I say this is an absolute...
Read moreWe were very excited to try this new restaurant. Upon arrival, we asked for the gluten free menu, only to be told categorically there was absolutely nothing on the menu that was gluten free! We have been to many Asian and Thai restaurants and have never had an issue accessing gluten free cuisine. This meant: Either the staff did not grasp the meaning of gluten free or Seemingly it was too much effort to offer alternative options. Either way, it meant we left the restaurant without being able to order. I would not recommend this restaurant at all for anyone with special dietary needs! We have been left extremely disappointed!!! In going forward for the restaurant, perhaps they should enquire during the booking process whether there are any dietary requirements or...
Read moreLet's start with atmosphere. We went mid week so it was quiet which was really nice after a long busy day. Lovely setting, candles and comfortable seating. The staff are genuinely lovely. Any questions about the menu they were more than happy to talk us through. The food... well, absolutely out of this world. Tasty, authentic, presentation was spot on. The meat cooked too perfection. Not a single bad thing. Best food I have eaten in a long time. Portion size was generous. Worth every penny. 2 drinks, 2 starters, 2 mains and a side £56. You cannot fault this little hidden gem....
