Five Stars for Cwtch Coffee – A Warm Welsh Hug in a Mug!
Two Australians wandered into Cwtch Coffee on the morning of 09 APR 25 (probably looking jetlagged and deeply confused) to a cosy little gem that lives up to its name - “cwtch” really does feel like a hug, and this place wrapped us up like a toasty blanket fresh from the dryer.
The service? Impeccable. The prices? Surprisingly kind to the wallet. The Coffee? Solid, satisfying, and exactly what we needed to help reset our body clocks.
We were served by a brilliantly funny Irish gentleman who could moonlight as a stand-up comic if he ever tires of perfectly pulling espresso shots. Honestly, if the coffee hadn’t perked us up, his banter would have. Read moreCame here (a good way off route too) on the basis that it had 5 stars for breakfast in the area, and it's one of the highest rated in town. However, the breakfast isn't really what this place is about. In fact, our breakfast wasn't that good. Bread wasn't even buttered (or butter provided), bacon tasted like it might have been microwaved. Disappointing. It's saving grace though, is that the coffee is excellent, and the banter by the staff was friendly. Note: CASH ONLY , big problem for me, as I don't carry cash anymore, and to me this generally indicates a business fiddling the system.... Dog friendly, which is a bonus. Photo is of the interesting little display acrosd...
Read moreFood excellent, coffee excellent, quirky little cafe :) I had (bare with me here) roasted veg with turmeric ciabatta - To be honest I wasn't expecting a great deal.... I mean how good can it be? Superb! Tasty salad with an excellent dip and some crispy things. Really fresh everything and the ciabatta was delicious! My friend had pastrami and said it was lovely too. Go and support this place - take cash though as they don't accept card. there's a Lloyd's a few doors up - but don't be put off by that and make the effort! The People are lovely :) it was quite quiet in there. Prices very reasonable for what...
