Fintans Fish and Chips — Restaurant in Wales

I'm recovering from major spinal surgery and really fancied fish and chips, not being able to get to shops myself at present i sent my eleven year old granddaughter to go for me. As it's November i sent her early to avoid walking home in the dark, the request was a small piece of fish if no small fish then a REAL fish cake and small chips a large sausage and chips was my granddaughter's choice. She arrived home with a bag of dark brown over fried chips still holding Grease from being fried more tha once and on top of them was this brownish orange round thing which when i broke in half dripped with grease and exposed a grey sludge inside, that i gathered was a cheap run of the mill fish cake once before going into the fryer two or three times. My granddaughter said the jumbo sausage was okay but she passed on the chips. Twenty odd years people fought to get a chip shop in llanishen and this sort of food is now to be expected now the excitement of opening up here has gone. I have no idea how much it cost me to feed my dustbin last night as granddaughterwasnt given a receipt but i know i will never go there again. If you can't provide freshly prepared and cooked food at early opening then you shouldn't open at that time. Your not the most expensive but your far from being the cheapest, so the very least you should do is provide...

Do not order from here. I placed an order, and they accepted it.....then kept me waiting for 1.5 hours before just "cancelling" the order. No apology. I've had food from here in the past, was mediocre at best.....looks like many other reviews agree. Was giving them one last chance and they proved how much of an abysmal service they provide. I wish I could give a score lower than 1 star!

Update....following you claiming that "I" cancelled my order after waiting for more than 90 minutes....I DID NOT! I would not have said it, if I didn't mean it. Please don't call me a LIAR! YOU had my contact details....why didn't you call to say that the drivers kept cancelling, It would have given me a better impression of you and given me the option to have collected for myself. You have far more "control" over the drivers than I do, and you also know if there is an issue before I do. You cancelled after an inexcusable wait and didn't apologise. You have also doubled down on your "rudeness" by calling me a liar, and excusing your bad behaviour! My review was fair and accurate. Improve your service and you won't get such reviews.....as I notice you have...

Terrible customer service and incompetent staff

We have been to fintans before and have been left unimpressed a good few times before. We decided to give it another go as it was too hot to cook today, I went in tonight with my mother. It took about 3 minutes before we were even acknowledged by staff, with the cook shouting through the wall. Once they finished their conversation, we ordered. The employee then overcharged us and we had to clarify our order with her.

When we got home we found various missing items. Upon returning to complain, my father was expressing what items were missing to which a young male employee responded by holding his hand up and telling him “there’s no need for that” and told his colleague he’d be around if she needed him, as if my father was going to cause a scene (ridiculous).

Overall a very unprofessional environment, and we will not be returning as this is not the first poor experience we have had...
