They couldn’t find my booking on arrival & it became apparent I mixed up my busy December dates, I wasn’t expecting the staff to be quite so unhelpful, extremely rude & unfriendly at this genuine error.
I suspect they wont be in business long, zero customer care skills & bad attitude to genuine customers does not bode well.
It was dirty & shabby too, the thin bench in the window & an outside garden table offered was nothing like expected, so declined. Was glad to leave.
We ended up in the Bear hotel, just a short walk away, had beautiful food & super friendly staff, so ended up a win for us.

I presume you must be mixing me up with another customer on the same day. … On walking in the disappointment hit me, So dirty, grubby.. obviously inflated marketing - I thought.
At no point were we offered 3 tables, I said no thanks to the ONE grotty table offered & left. I’m a retired professional 💯chilled & never irate, yours is not the only eatery in Cowbridge why would your lack of decent table upset me.
I would never come back-you have serious customer care issues.
Since coming home I’ve read the reviews regarding the treatment to others from aggressive owner/manager 😡
I suggest any decent folk thinking of booking do the same.
The young waitress was your daughter, I heard her call you mam, unfortunately for her to have such a parent… I actually felt sorry for her as she was obviously embarrassed by your aggressive rude behaviour towards us.
You completely contradict yourself- why would I refuse 3 tables if I was so desperate to eat there, I was NOT disappointed to be leaving.

At 11.40am on 16th April, 2 hours before our booking, I received an email from OpenTable informing me that my booking had been cancelled by the Restaurant. No explanation was given. My husband then rang Harry’s and was informed by a female member of staff that the booking had been cancelled by telephone. My husband said that no one had cancelled the booking and that we had every intention of eating there. The member of staff was insistent that a lady, supposedly me, had cancelled the booking due to a family illness. My husband asked her if she was calling him a liar and would she like to speak to me to confirm this wasn’t true? She declined this and said that another member of staff had taken the phone call and do we wish to rebook? My husband again repeated that we had not cancelled the booking to begin with. At no time did she apologise for any miscommunication or even ask her colleague to confirm to whom she spoke to and what name was given which would have cleared up the matter immediately. There was a total lack of customer service and disinterest in our predicament. She made it perfectly clear that she did not believe my husband. I would like to start of with saying this place is not cheap so you expect a certain level of etiquette and service while dining here. When we were shown to our seats we were forgotten about for 20 minutes before I went up and asked if we can place our order which was responded with “ok we have a big table, so will be down in a couple mins” which was fine but annoying. After ordering our starters and mains we asked for additional drinks as it had been so long however when asking for another glass of the same white wine before it we were given a completely different glass of wine. When we queried this we were told we were wrong and it was “The wine might taste different due to the food we have eaten” and not an apology. It felt confrontational and completely ruined the atmosphere of the meal. After we ate our mains we felt that uncomfortable we decided to leave straight away. Upon paying for the bill at the bar we again expressed we weren’t happy with what happened with the wine. No apology again, just roll of the eyes from our server and other members of staff.
