Such a disappointing experience here today!! Between queuing outside on the pavement to get in and actually getting our food, took a good hour! Yes it's Christmas Eve and yes they were busy initially when we got there but that is no excuse. Every customer should be valued and we most definitely were not. We were made to feel invisible.

When we finally got a table for 2, we were handed menus, quickly made our choices of a plant based breakfast with a hard fried egg and a gluten free breakfast with 2 teas. Had to wait quite a while before anyone came to take our order. Then we waited and waited and waited! We saw people who had come in after us receive their hot drinks yet still we had nothing! They also received apologies for the delay, nobody had the courtesy to do that to us. I eventually flagged down a passing waitress and asked if we could at the very least get our cups of tea! This was brought to our table after I had asked for it, but no apology for the delay. Our food eventually arrived, my plant based breakfast was missing the vegetarian sausage, so I pointed this out to a waiter. He came back with a pork sausage(!) so I pointed out that I had a vegetarian meal....he finally came back with a vegetarian sausage. There was nothing on the plate to warrant what I was being charged for this very meagre portion! A few measly beans, a fried egg which I was charged an extra £1.50 for and couldn't eat because it was runny despite me specifically saying I needed it hard and not runny! A lump of cold avocado, lump of soggy spinach, 2 bits of small toast and a couple of mushrooms. Both our breakfasts were barely warm and quite unappetising. By this point we were losing the will to live and what should have been a nice Christmas eve treat was well and truly spoilt. I paid almost £30 for this below par food and sloppy indifferent service! Never have I felt more ripped off and undervalued. We won't...

we kind of like going out for Sunday morning breakfast & have been and tried quite a few places, sadly we tend to end up being disappointed & regretting it as everything is compared to the penny farthing! I was reluctant to post a review as I'm being incredibly selfish & don't want it to get too popular, but got to accept credit where its due! The penny farthing inside is a bit like a tardis & much bigger inside than expected, really nice & very comfortably The staff are always so polite & efficient, service is fabulous & the food/breakfast best I've ever tasted. Quality food items & I always struggle to finish the penny farthing breakfast. I've had afternoon tea here a couple of times, & the cakes are to die for which your greeted with & can't miss when you go in. Also excellent value for money. If I could afford it, I'd probably buy a house in Cowbridge just so the penny farthing could be my...

I'm not into reviews to be honest but feel I simply must. Visited this place as we were staying down here for a wedding, it was also armed forces day that weekend. Ordered a substantial amount of food and in good spirits presented my MOD discount card and enquired as to whether any discount was available. I was rudely told no by the manager. That's fair enough, however what really really annoyed me was the amount of footfall coming through the shop due to the armed forces parade that was happening down the street. I called the manager over and asked him if they were busier today due to the parade, he smiled and said they were flat out. I pointed out that he was benefiting from a large number of extra customers who were only here because of the armed forces. He wasn't interested. Seriously not happy. Will not visit here again. Oh, and the food was very dry and average, much...

4 stars simply based on table service, not to be that person, but we waited a really long time (once we finished our meals) for the table to be cleared and to give our dessert order. OTHER THAN THIS, really lovely. The southern fried chicken wrap is flavourful, the burger was also delicious but the main star are the pavlova!!!! A must try, I'd drive over an hr back just for them. Honestly, bloody delicious. So light, creamy and crunchy. I also loved sauce in a mini dish, nothing beats it. I hate sachets. Staff are great and very welcoming, it's a lovely little place with a really nice garden terrace.

Great service from this lovely place even though it was really busy. The food was delicious great menu & nothing too much trouble. We wanted to sit in the window and the manager certainly made it happen, a really cheerful guy who was wiping tables, chatting to customers & knew what was happening & had it all sorted. Staff very friendly & working hard too. Great atmosphere thank you for looking after us we will be back.

This was the best food I have eaten by far in UK. The service was excellent. Staff were respectful & attentive to our requests. The food was yummy. We were told that it would be crowded but we were lucky to get seats on arrival & then it got crowded. Worth a visit just for the service & food
