Mr Coffi — Restaurant in Wales

Mr coffee - fairwater. I've been here quite a few times now since my parents moved to the area. (We are originally from fairwater) sometimes the coffee is nice, but it depends who is doing it. Seems to be a lot of young girls employer here. Some of them have no manners and have a bit of an attitude. I went there today with mum and child. There was a man who worked there, looks like the manager/chef. Wearing black work clothes. He kept walking outside where we were sat and staring, putting things in the bin etc. It took me a while to realise that he was staring because I was feeding my autistic child who is a toddler, a baby flapjack. I smiled at him and he just stared back at me. It is obvious that he did not like that I was feeding my child food that we hadn't purchased from mr coffee. The flapjack was on top of a bag fr brutons, so whether he assumed that we were having a full on lunch from brutons I don't know. But it was literally just a baby flapjack and there is absolutely no need to stare and be intimidating. We spent £9 between us. Which was just two coffees and a cake! Very overpriced but was willing to pay that until today. Coffee was awful today, served by a lovely young guy, but it's the second time he has made our coffee and it tastes awful. I will not be going here again due to the stinking attitude of the manager/chef. He made me feel so uncomfortable. If you have a problem with my child eating a baby snack then say.dont just keep coming back and fore giving me dirty looks. You're a grown man intimidating a young woman over a baby snack. Shame on you. You need to also lower your prices. £1.50 for a can of coke is ridiculous. £3 for a small slice of cake is ridiculous too £2.50 for a cup of tea. Employ people who aren't kids too. The food was good ( although slow)and the waitresses were lovely and polite. The reason I only gave it a 3 stars was because of the attitude of the chef ( owner/manger). I'd asked for a child's breakfast. Lots of places will let you order one if you don't want a full size breakfast. I was told that it was only for children. I accepted this as I know not all establishments allow an adult to have a child's meal. The waitress behind the one that was serving me advised her that i could choose individual items that I wanted. She couldn't tell me the prices until she tapped them on the till she said. I decided to do this, but then when my first item was toast for €1.60 it made me very wary on what the other prices would be. ( it turned out they were not actually too bad - bacon 75p, egg 50p, beans £1) - if they had a sign saying the prices of individual food, I would not have worried how expensive my small breakfast was going to be. I started to get a bit flustered and couldn't think straight ( not like me at all) as a result of the chef coming over with his mocking sarcasm that I felt was belittling especially in front of another customer and the waitresses. All of this was done through a 'polite smile'. I am not easily offended but this guy managed to offend and get my hackles up. Perhaps a bit of showing off for the young waitresses. Ordered a Cappuccino with a bacon and egg sandwich to take away .. coffee came about 20mins before the food even though the shop was empty.. The coffee was only a third of the cup and the rest was froth .. I took the coffee back to one staff member who was behind the counter and texting on her phone and was not at all interested saying don’t you realise that cappuccino is 1 third froth.. I replied saying that I understand that cappuccino has froth but should not fill most of the cup..she then reluctantly said that other staff member would make another whilst she continued texting and not starting on any of the food order.. my sandwich eventually came and was the worst sandwich I’ve ever had .. the bacon was solid and dried out as if it was re heated over again with the egg swimming in oil .. the bread was hard on the crusts and was not at all fresh and just thrown into a polystyrene carton with the least bit of presentation effort .. the service was totally the miserable.. not the cleanest of coffee shops...
